What is hip?

Not my hip but I broke my Tibia and Fibula while mountain biking at 46…… that happened in May and I am running with my huskies again…… my injury involved surgery to place a steel rod in my leg….. not fun, but you can do this, follow whatever physical therapy they prescribe, it helped me tremendously and i I did my own work out routine and have shed 45 lbs…… I am 6’3” and 195 now….it sounds insane, but it is a great opportunity to get healthy.
Best wishes. You can do this no problem.

You'll be good after a week & doing everything you should by 2 weeks IF you follow rehab & dont do anything stupid.
Actually healing takes months but you'll be up & around quickly

Will you be healed up in time to make the KISS meet and greet? We haven't seen any cripples in those pictures yet.

Why do you have to do this? An accident? An injury?
We normally think of much older people getting hip replacements, but it can happen to anyone from injury or even infection.
Good luck to you! You got this!

Had bilateral knee replacements in July at 56. Take care of your knees peoples! In rehab there were people who had their hips done and it seems like a fairly easy recovery compared to knees and shoulders. Just make sure you do your exercises.
You should always remember you're unique, just like everyone else!

My stepdad (age 72) just had his hip replaced a couple weeks ago. He's doing fine. He's slow but becoming more mobile every day. Currently using a walker and a cane. Physical therapist comes to his house every day. Just took out his staples yesterday.
I assume you'll do fine. Best to you!

Good luck dude.
A lot of your recovery is based on your current shape. If you are not Wolfie like and get some semi regular exercise, you should be up and moving around in a couple weeks, as others have said.
Only advice I can really give is to not fuck around with the recovery (It's easy to say you will do it right). Do exactly as the doctors tell you, and don't overexert yourself. Sucks in the short term, but you should be ready to rock by spring / early summer.
