Yeah what a bummer. One of my favourite bands. Saw them many times and met him a few times. A lot of great songs. CEO Stevie if you’re reading this what did you think of April Wine?

Saw them live a few years ago, guy looked like he was ready to drop dead there and then. Lots of great stuff in their catalog though, up to Nature of the Beast anyways. RIP

Familiar with April Wine’s 2 hits. High school friend of mine loved them. So did Ricky on Trailer Park Boys.

They had some awesome tracks. Fantastic live band too, always sounded way heavier in person.

"That they were more recognizable than Led Zeppelin because of MTV."

Once again, DimmingDunce saying he is either unfamiliar with them or dislikes them automatically makes you realize they must've been far better than you remember. World's most reliable endorsement.

I mean I'd like to believe it's a "bit", but that's a LOT of work over the years put in to convincing people he's ignorant.

Big fan, although I only saw them once, the reunion circa '93. RIP
Will the other guy keep it going?

I expect so. They were going to keep going without him (with his blessing) with Marc Parent as his replacement anyway. Death is just a slightly more permanent form of retirement.

They’ve been going since Myles retired. Saw them in August.

All that needs to be said about bands like this, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Foghat, etc.: There is money to be made. If the money stops, the charade will stop.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the one or none original band member thing either. I guess if you just accept that it's a cover band like the great cover bands/bar bands of the 80s, it's a way to hear the music you like played live again. The guy singing for April Wine now sounds nothing like Myles (nobody could), but the band sounded great and played a lot of older stuff that Myles hadn't been able to pull off for a long time. For what it was, it was enjoyable, and going forward this is obviously the only way we'll be able to hear classic rock live. Better than seeing the latest version of Kiss croaking along to backing tracks and standing in one spot all night.
