Re: Judas Priest or KKs Priest Who would you rather see?
Even KK's mom would pick Judas Priest.
Re: Judas Priest or KKs Priest Who would you rather see?
I went with KK. I’ve seen JP lots of times, I haven’t seen KKP yet. And I like the KK albums.
I’d do 2 of each from Jugulator and Demoliton.
2 of each of the KKP albums, then the rest JP songs.

Same!
More OG JP guitarists on stage, smaller venue, no bum notes, maybe KKP will bring L.A. Guns to Europe too!
"Priest" already has a show scheduled here in April, I'm so excited that I don't have a ticket yet.

KK
Rob talk-sings too much of the songs now, and, while I do appreciate that they change up the setlist quite a bit these days, I've seen them enough in their post-Tipton era, Id rather see something different with KK and Ripper
Also, with JP, there's only 1 KK on stage, while KKs Priest has 2 KKs, so thats double the KK!! KKKK!

They’re both tribute bands at this point so I’d skip both and check YouTube if they played any rare songs.

Re: Judas Priest or KKs Priest Who would you rather see?
KK.
I don't go to shed or arena shows anymore, and I also don't spend stupid money to see bands. At some point I got free tickets from work to see the Priest/Saxon/Blackstar Riders show and left about a third of the way through Priests set. Was already annoyed BSR dropped all Lizzy songs except Jailbreak. Saxon has always been awful. Priest put me to sleep. Boring night out.
KK is an obnoxious weirdo and I understand why Priest don't want him around, but I would absolutely pay $20-$30 to hear him and Ripper do some JP covers in a club.

Re: Judas Priest or KKs Priest Who would you rather see?
Of course, I will see both. I've enjoyed seeing JP throughout the years, however, if one option is available, I would rather see KK. Both albums are killer, Rob's voice is gradually fading, whereas Ripper rips.

I'd prefer the KK and Glenn back in the main lineup, but if I had to choose I'd go with Rob and Ian.

Priest all day. The only KK songs I'd know would be Priest tunes and Rob is the voice. Plus Ripper's a nob...

Re: Judas Priest or KKs Priest Who would you rather see?
Rob has been boring for at least the last 20 years. He just stands there and hunches over constantly with his cane. He was so boring compared to Testament on the Metal Gods tour that I ended up leaving halfway through his set. He also does the talk-singing as others have noted. Ripper still has the fire. Can't say I really care for KK's setlist though. They should add Cathedral Spires, maybe a couple more from Junkulator, Hell Is Home, One on One, Close To You, Subterfuge, Feed On me, and toss out Living After Midnight and You've Got. Heard those enough. How about Here Come The Tears, Out In the Cold, Reckless, Blood Red Skies, Hell Patrol, Living Bad Dreams, Between the Hammer, Night Comes Down, Take These Chains, Hot For Love, Sentinel, Rock Hard Ride Free, Angel, Desert Plains, and Before the Dawn. Owens voice doesn't go as deep, but he handles stuff in that Painkiller range a lot better. He's best suited to the heavier, faster stuff. Slow and aggressive too. I haven't heard his Breaking the Law lately, but I don't recall that it was all that faithful to the deeper character of Rob's voice on it.

I have seen Priest many times over the decades. I still support them, but live they are a bit.. tired now. I chose KK's Priest because it would be something new and more interesting. And it would be in a club setting. I hate going to arenas now.

I have no disrespect for classic Priest's second best guitarist, but I wouldn't exactly go out of my way to see his band instead of the group that fired him.
I guess there would also be folks out there who would choose Adler's Appetite over the current version of GnR, but I'm not one of them either.

At this point probably KK’s because at least I’d hear some songs off Jugulator played live

In his book, he acts like a lovesick little schoolgirl (self-described!) when he gets an infatuation, and the dude is usually a macho, bearded, disinterested man's man.maninblack wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 9:50 am I assume he is a bottom. But has anyone ever asked him in an interview?

Neither.
Saw Priest 3 times. No need to see them again.
KK's Priest doesn't interest me. Can't stand Ripper.

Re: Judas Priest or KKs Priest Who would you rather see?
KK’s band is cringeworthy. Metal for meatheads, who only think a band is good if every song is fast and heavy. Totally generic crap. They sound like they can be 100 other bands musically, and Ripper oversings everything. At least Priest has some variety and nuance… the two songs released from the upcoming album are great, as was Firepower.
