Saw Dokken open for Aerosmith and Van Hagar. Saw Cheap Trick open for REO Speedwagon and headline twice...

Shocked Great White weren’t mentioned. Pre-fire, in the mid-80’s, they and Dokken were the go to opening acts if you wanted to bring in some extra fans and appeal to the hair metal crowd. Off the top of my head I remember them opening big tours for Priest, Whitesnake, Scorpions, and Alice Cooper.

Cinderella and Slaughter need to be up there too.

Anyone can headline club tours.

Say, that's a SWELL idea! Let's put on a SHOW! We can rehearse in the old barn! Maybe somebody's mom can make some costumes!

I've seen Prong open for a large amount of B/C tier metal bands since the 90's, outside of Cheap Trick (unquestionably the winners IMO) they would be my pick.

I’m not talking about clubs, I’m talking mid to larger venues.

I saw them headline the Roseland & Terminal 5 in New York City, and Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn. It would be safe to assume that they played similar-sized venues on other stops on those tours.

They aren’t Madison Square Garden, but they aren’t “clubs” by any means.

Don't think these two have been mentioned.
Jackyl - they came through my area twice within a short amount of time, first opening for Damn Yankees and then Aerosmith.
Lita Ford - opened for Yngwie in 88, Motley Crue in 90, and KISS in 94.

I saw them open for 'Smiff - in between Lumberjack and She Loves My Cock, Jesse screamed The Star Spangled Banner into his guitar pickups. They've got my vote.

mixed it up and put on skid row 1992 concert headlining w/Pantera. They were in a 5k small arena. I like them a lot and with solinger love that album but there's a reason they were awesome opener for bon jovi, aerosmith, motley, and gnr. not on the level of those bands.
