Check this live performance of "The Unforgiven"... something's fishy with Hetfield's vocals, maybe he has an harmonizer on, or is it some fuckin autotune ... or ... just some post-production added for the release of the video on youtube?

Only listened to the first verse. It sounded, to me, like he wasn't pushing his vocals as hard (maybe). A little lighter/smoother. Maybe if I watched more, it would be more apparent.

He's just singing it weirder than normal, a little cleaner, and the guitar parts that are playing the same melody as the vocals come in just right occasionally and make it sound a little weird, almost doubled.

He sounds great, and it's definitely real. He's singing it better than usual, not that the usual is bad, this is just better.
