Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
Would you be interested in a supergroup of Ex Kiss members? Which ones? Duel guitars with Vinnie and Ace? What should be the name of the group?
Not everybody is on MetalShit.com and Blabberface fuckin’ dot net! Who cares? There’s such a small amount of people that do that. - Blotz
Re: Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
It would be called DIS, as in Disfunctional.
Say what you want about Gene and Paul but they've never stopped over the past 50 years. Most of the other guys didn't have the business sense or work ethic to keep something going non-stop.

They wouldn’t be able to top the Todd Kerns cover band with Bruce. That was the most interesting Kiss thing in 30 years.

Re: Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
Let’s go through the list.
Peter’s musically not good enough to play with anyone.
Ace’s ego makes him think he’s too big to tour with anyone and he can’t even play Cold Gin properly anymore let alone learn anything else, so he’s out.
Vinnie is mentally ill. He’s out.
Bruce, sure.
Elton Singer, sure.
So what does that leave us, a Kulick/Singer/Kerns/Throne kind of thing. Or Union with Singer on drums. It’s not a draw outside KISS expos or one off nights in Vegas unfortunately. And Brent Fitz plays the old KISS stuff better than Singer does anyway, so it’s a downgrade.
Hell, even Simmons or Stanley doing their last solo tours were only playing one nighters in clubs. And I know for a fact that Gene’s was papered to hell.
Gene with Bruce? Yeah I could see that maybe. But I always got the impression he never really respected Bruce.

I'm pretty sure Peter has no desire to anyway. He's 78 years old and seems to be happy in retired life.BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 2:50 am Peter’s musically not good enough to play with anyone.

Speaking of this I just saw on another forum, that Gene, Bruce and Eric are playing shows in south America in a few months.

Re: Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
I would go see Gene with Bruce Kulick, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer. I am doubtful he could do or has a desire to tour, I would not be opposed to Peter’s inclusion somehow.
I’ve been a fan since the 70s and I have zero interest in seeing Paul, Ace or Vinnie.

Re: Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
What would Thayer bring to the table except being a melonhead cunt?
Gene’s solo band played everything absolutely dead on, all the nuances from the albums. Even Bruce couldn’t play the 70s stuff as well as those guys. Something tells me Gene wouldn’t go out playing a whole lot of his songs from Asylum and Hot In The Shade so musically there’s no advantage having Bruce there either.

Maybe he didn't write the songs that make the young girls cry, but he does have a way of making some men and boys a little misty eyed.
I reckon all songs are folk songs. I ain't never heard no horses singing any.
Re: Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
The arguable highlight of the show was when they passed out glowsticks during Copacabana, and you had 10,000 moms all doing a disco rave.

Re: Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
They didn't sell the glowsticks?
Wayne Newton's people used to contact local florists on tour dates to have them supply the merch tables with lots of red roses.
They sold the roses and during the performance (guess which song), women in the audience were encouraged to walk to the front of the stage to give the roses to Mr. Newton....or lay them at his feet.
I reckon all songs are folk songs. I ain't never heard no horses singing any.
Re: Ex Kiss Members Supergroup
No, it was a pretty good experience $$$-wise all around.
The show was one of a series of all-in for $20 shows, then the glowsticks were free.
I guess Barry has enough money and respects and doesn't need to gouge his fans UNLIKE SOME OTHER OLDE PERFORMERS WHO DON'T DO AS GOOD A SHOW AND PLAY WITH TAPED VOCALS.
