Everything in the kitchen gets put away. I use thr Keurig and the toaster goes in the cabinet. I don’t really cook I eat out everyday or stop by my parents house and eat.

I'm NOT poor, I'm L.A. poor.

If I lived in upstate New York with my L.A. income, I'd have a big house, too.

...but my kitchen would still have light fixtures, hand towels and cast-iron skillets hanging, maybe an area rug under the work areas.

I certainly wouldn't go for that white/gray bare walls-with-gray-fake-wood-flooring, store-bought cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, fake marble countertops-thing.

I like textures, colors, patterns and controlling the ambient sound and light of a space so it has warmth...you know, homey.
