it doesn’t matter.
No one’s going to a concert to hear music performed, just to film celebrities & stars with their phone

If Steve Brown and Bruno Ravel were such a huge part of the record, why not have them do the tour?
Throw in a Trixter and Danger Danger during the encore. Sounds like a fun show to me.

If it wasn’t for his band he could not play ONE song.

Ace could quite possibly be one of the “most famous” mediocre players in rock history. His claim to fame is being a character. He sucked in the 70s. He sucks worse in 24.

Ace sucks now, but certainly didn't suck in the 70's. Put on Alive! again.TooOldToCare wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 6:56 pm Ace could quite possibly be one of the “most famous” mediocre players in rock history. His claim to fame is being a character. He sucked in the 70s. He sucks worse in 24.

Re: Ace already ruined his "best album ever"
Okay, sucks was the wrong word. Simplistic is the word. Ace never played anything a guitarist with a year messing with pentatonic boxes couldn't play. He was fine for kids who wanted to learn a solo. His solo spot in the show was laughable. There is nothing good about it except "it was Ace."Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 7:06 pmAce sucks now, but certainly didn't suck in the 70's. If anyone hasnt seen this 5 minute video from his manager about his antics, there are some great stories about Aces antics and what he is like.

If the spaceman wants to play his new song
He’s gonna have to play
Without a brain
In his deck

How does a live version of the song ruin the album?

Good guitar players from the 70s: Jeff Beck, John McLaughlin, Brian May, Steve Howe, Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmour, Mick Taylor, Michael Schenker, Richie Blackmore, etc.Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 7:06 pm Ace sucks now, but certainly didn't suck in the 70's. Put on Alive! again.
Meanwhile the guy giving lessons at every music store in America could play better than Ace. Come on.

I'd say most kids taking guitar lessons at every music store in America can play better than AceFreddyFender wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 11:19 pmGood guitar players from the 70s: Jeff Beck, John McLaughlin, Brian May, Steve Howe, Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmour, Mick Taylor, Michael Schenker, Richie Blackmore, etc.Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 7:06 pm Ace sucks now, but certainly didn't suck in the 70's. Sure, but Johnny Ramone, Steve Jones, Johnny Thunder, etc. There's no one way to play rock guitar, and more complex technical playing doesn't equate "better". Sure Ace (Joe Perry, Rick Nielsen, etc.) was simple, but hit hit the sweet spot for my young teenage self. Re: Ace already ruined his "best album ever"
Ace went back to the bridge and tried to play the solo for the second time, Ace sounded better the second time but everyone else was lost so it didn’t sound better … the other guitarist plays more lead on this song than Ace.
He doesn’t deserve this band.

Ace, Joe, and Rick destroy Johnny, Steve, and Johnny. Maybe you meant that?Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 12:39 amSure, but Johnny Ramone, Steve Jones, Johnny Thunder, etc. There's no one way to play rock guitar, and more complex technical playing doesn't equate "better". I did not. As I mentioned, had you read it, is that there are different styles of guitar playing. I mean, it's right above.DemonFilth2001 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 7:17 amAce, Joe, and Rick destroy Johnny, Steve, and Johnny.
