Dead and Company Confirm Return With Las Vegas Sphere Residency

Dead & Company’s “final tour” wasn’t the end of the road for the Grateful Dead offshoot, as the John Mayer-featuring band has confirmed they’ll reconvene this spring for a lengthy residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere.

I don't think they recorded any albums at Château d'Herouville, just a last-minute show. According to Archives: Incredible circumstances land the Dead in France playing for free outside a Chateau once inhabited by Chopin to about 200 people after a downpour wipes away their original festival location. Story goes that everyone is getting drunk from the Chateau open wine cellar, and playfully throwing each other in the pool throughout as the Dead play to the local yokels, fire brigade, village children, and a few lucky deadheads. Love the electric piano throughout...People have described this show as uninspiring and standard, but you can hear the effortlessness of the Dead as they ease their way to wherever they want to go over. Definitely worth a Sunday afternoon listen.

I can see where Van Halen may have got the knee socks idea from, watching the young rascals. It all seems very van halen-esque. The grateful dead had two drummers there, I immediately wondered if thats where Genesis got the idea from. The grateful dead dont seem to be brilliant musicians but there is something about them. Its like their gigs would be a great place to hang out. I remember seeing a photo of one of their stage sets and the amps and speakers went up to the sky It was probably posted on this site previously, is where I saw it, and it was very comical, and I dont know if they meant it to be, because I am always reminded of cheech and chong with them.
