I believe this is from The Stone Festival (think that's what it was called). A two-day event. Billy Idol was also on the bill. From memory, it absolutely bombed in ticket sales. They had to reconfigure the stage from the goal line to the halfway line and turn it 90 degrees.

Glad that they mixed it so you can hear Wolfie overplay and throw in all those stupid runs instead of hearing Ed's guitar.

“She’s The Woman” is so goddamn filthy dirty sounding.
Also, the first minute intro of “I’ll Wait” is great stuff!

I was there was a great couple of days, very odd setup but there would have still been atleast 10k people there, Kings of Chaos, Buckcherry, Jimmy Barnes, Noiseworks, Living End, Ritchie Ramone, Superjesus were all on day 1, Billy Joel, Icehouse, Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll and a few others on day 2, was a great show, for sure, Aerosmith were originally playing a week before or a week later but joined the bill which is why they played before VHtommybonham wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2024 11:45 pm I believe this is from The Stone Festival (think that's what it was called). If you want a laugh here’s the press conference. Roth next to Billy Joel who doesn’t know how to take him. Plus the toxic twins.

As for the band, I've said it before and I'll say it again. Aside the BS of not touring with Michael Anthony and their demons, the band is absolutely KILLING IT and it's pretty cool that it's two brothers and their son/nephew.

, and it's funny that people are saying that Wolfie's too high in the mix and in the first ten seconds Alex is motioning to turn EVH up. Would have been funny it was the opposite, "Turn HIM down!"

The band sounds good. MA would have been better, especially with the backing vocals, but Wolf was really solid.
Re: Van Halen @ Sydney, Australia 2013-04-20 (pro shot)
I enjoyed that much more than I thought I would, ended up watching the whole thing.
I can’t help wondering how they would have went performing as a three piece with the young cub on vocals.

Any idea why the first 35 minutes are in black and white?

It’s feed from the big screen and they just did it like that during the ADKOT era.
I asked the guy if he has more VH, he says yes. He worked for them for four years.
Pity they didn’t use this show for the live album instead of the Tokyodome one a few months later, Roth is patchy here but not fucking shit like Tokyodome.

Unpopular opinion in 3… 2… 1…
Made through about 3 minutes. It’s hard to watch. Humiliating.
Dave with that ridiculous baton act… Eddie pogo jumping… Wolfie painfully yearning for attention like a fat goth kid in gym class… those awful clothes… zero stage production…
Just brutal.

Itś is a little sad to see it was all over before Eddie`s passing already.
Wolfie overplays like a second rate Sheehan, Eddie`s tone is like he borrowed gear from a nu-metal band and Dave`s vocals are all over the place.

You pretty much nailed it all of it.
This is not the VH I want to remember.

Video quality is fantastic. I've actually never seen Wolfie play live with VH. If he could nail the MA backup vox it would be even better, but that's a tough task. The band is great to my ears, Eddie is shining here, and the thought of three Van Halen's on stage is a mind f*cker in a good way.daveg wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 3:59 amNot an unpopular opinion.Spongie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 5:00 am Unpopular opinion in 3… 2… 1…

The painful part for me is Dave. I can't find anything good to say, so I'll just leave it as that. Does he chew gum for the entire concert? I jumped around to see if it got any better (it didn't) maybe 5 minutes total is all I could do??

What the hell is this ultra sad
