I don't consider myself a genius or a scholar, but for the love of Grade School... how the F#@k did some of these clowns make it this far in life?

Mick Mars tries to act way smarter than he actually is.

Don’t know their music but neither Jack Russell nor Don Dokken strike me as particularly bright.

Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, and Eric Clapton are people with intelligence who nevertheless choose to be some of the dumbest fucking people alive.

I have to say, from even being in bands through my teenage years, the brightest bulbs on the planet are not in rock/metal. In general, it's not a great area for geniuses. I know there are some outliers, but there are a lot of peeps with uneducated backgrounds - Especially for those musicians who reached stardom at a young age. It's like that with child actors and retired atheletes, as well. No one ever paid them to be smart and "know stuff".

Everyone in early WASP not named Lawless or Riley... Randy Piper, Tony Richards, Johnny Rod and Chris Holmes may have an average IQ.. if added together.

Even a musical genius like Michael Jackson was an idiot. I watched the We are the World special last night. The dude hums the music...doesn't play a note. He stands 6 feet away from everyone. Doesn't take his sunglasses off. Has a monkey and/or a snake with him at all times. And we know what allegedly happened later in his life.

Sebastian Bach is notoriously dumb but he's amusing and entertaining.

Uhh the thread is about who is DUMB. A simple glance at the thread title and CEO’s post will confirm that for you. I made a distinction between who’s straight up dumb and who’s intelligent but chooses to be dumb.

Vinnie sure has problems but low IQ isn't one of them.

I suspect the opposite, that he was at least on Gene and Paul's level and they didn't know how to handle him. They were used to have dumbasses without drive in the band - Criss, Ace, Carr - and then they got someone who was a leader himself and wanted to be their equal. So they started screwing with him not expecting him to not sign contracts and walk away.

Wonder how he was in person before Kiss. Drummer Hirsh Gardner who played with him before and just after Kiss says he noticed Vinnie changed massively and for the worse when working with him in 1984 on VVI demos.
