King's X - Dogman. Its great all the way through and i dont even like their previous four albums. That album was like a new beginning.

Not sure why Tesla, Steelheart, and Trixter are in the poll. I didn't notice anything heavier about those albums - just a continuation of their original style.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Scorpions "Face the Heat". That's a fantastic album, but unfortunately they decided to go totally soft afterwards with "Pure Instinct" which is a total snoozefest.
