I saw where he had been battling stage 4 lung cancer for a few years now, and Rock Melodic Radio’s FB page just announced his passing, though not officially confirmed anywhere else yet. He co-wrote “Mighty Wings” from the Top Gun soundtrack as well as a bunch of other great AOR singles and also had a solo career with a bunch of albums. Any fans of his here? I'm going through his discography and I wasn't aware he wrote for so many pop artists. He was hardly limited to rock.
He had a hand in most of the songs on the Giant debut. I really love that album so he has my respect for that.
