R.I.P. Mark Spiro…Any fans?

The one that started it all. Spreading gossip and insults since 1998.

R.I.P. Mark Spiro…Any fans?

Post by dmbrocker »

I saw where he had been battling stage 4 lung cancer for a few years now, and Rock Melodic Radio’s FB page just announced his passing, though not officially confirmed anywhere else yet. He co-wrote “Mighty Wings” from the Top Gun soundtrack as well as a bunch of other great AOR singles and also had a solo career with a bunch of albums. Any fans of his here? If this is officially true, then RIP, Mark:

Maybe not, but there are people here who likely enjoy any number of songs for which he had a writing credit, so that's probably gotta count for something. Oh well. I tried.

He was a AOR guy. I like some of his songs like All The Love We Kill:

And the ones he wrote for Winger (Written In The Wind) and Heart (Cruel Tears).

RIP.

I'm going through his discography and I wasn't aware he wrote for so many pop artists. He was hardly limited to rock.

He had a hand in most of the songs on the Giant debut. I really love that album so he has my respect for that.

Anyway, I'll be giving this a spin:
