Yeah underrated classic. VG at least...

Yeah, this thread compelled me to give "Highway Song" a listen. Great southern rock.

Think I prefer Maurader.
Re: Blackfoot’s “Strikes” - my review
First of a kickass three album run leading up to Highway Song Live, which is a fun, energetic, cocaine-fueled live record. I'd put "Highway Song" up in a short list of great southern rock anthems with "Green Grass and High Tides," "Simple Man," "Tuesdays Gone," "Fall of the Peacemakers," etc. (and yes "Freebird" too). But Blackfoot's strength was playing heavy and hard, like Molly Hatchet in the same era, and to an extent Skynyrd and the Outlaws a couple years before. Like someone said once, Jack Daniels and a few Les Pauls made a great combination.
*I kinda want a new screenname. Seriously. I barely watch racing anymore.

Tried listening to this record based on this thread..
I just can’t do it. I’m not a fan of the 70s boogie woogie rock

Re: Blackfoot’s “Strikes” - my review
I mentioned this here previously...
On the WCAGA Tour in 1991, Tuff opened for Blackfoot in S.C. at some venue...
I only recall one thing from that night, and that is that Ricky Medlocke took a swipe at Warrant from the stage.
In short, he said something like "They're is some Hollywood band who covered my song, and we're going to show you how it's really done!"
And they busted into "Train Train", and of course, he was referencing Warrant... it was def a diss... and at the time I thought, he should be thanking them as that record was selling like crazy, and I am sure his publishing statements to follow had a few VERY NICE numbers on them compared to the previous 20+ years!
