I always thought Paula Abdul was really beautiful. That Cold Hearted Video from 1989 was incredible to see as a junior high student. She only recorded 3 albums in her whole career...Skimming through her Forever Your Girl album is really like a time-machine of the late 80s...bright, melodic, and upbeat.

I was reading something about how the record company ditched the songwriters that made the first album such a huge hit and brought in their own picks for the follow-up -- and you can tell it wasn't quite the same.

She was being compared to Madonna for a minute there, and was about as gorgeous as it got in 1989.

She blew off the opening night of the tour here in town. They called it an “production issue” but we heard her soundcheck.

NKOTB and Jazzy Jeff performed with no problem. Apparently she didn’t perform in Chicago the second night, either.

I was also at the third night of the tour and she actually managed to perform. Storytime with Aunt Paula.

I like her a lot and bought my old school looking shirt but she kinda needs to watch her shit. They could easily spend the Paula Abdul money on a two for one deal for Debbie Gibson/Tiffany - it would be a better show and they wouldn’t have to put up with Paula Abdul attitude.

Like them or not, the New Kids on the Block have been printing money in their reunion era and their tours have been well oiled money machines.

They don’t fuck around with their money anymore.
Their tours are high profile big business affairs.

I truly don’t expect her to finish out the dates but the reason is a crapshoot.

I saw her Vegas residency a few years ago. It actually starts with her talking - some skit where she was "auditioning" dancers. I don't think she sang a live note the entire concert. But the gays in the audience were all about it. Almost like a drag show.

I missed out on Feb 20 1991 NKOTB tour at Selland arena Fresno. Huge deal show was all over the news with live story on news. Many of them was the lead story. Felt jealousy next day at school all hot girls were wearing new shirts and talk of the school was the show. Show was instant sellout.

NKOTB were fun…the show is like Magic Mike performances. All dudes dress like strippers now and run around ripping off the shirts…audience is still 90% girls. Bigtime show lots dancing - costume changes kind of like Ghost show for the girls..I had FUN! Last few songs NKOTB came dressed as Boston Celtics in LA Forum got booed but explained why! We hope for Lakers vs Boston in 2025 Finals! (Boston doesn’t have the Bronny problem)

Night 2 Summer Magic tour San Diego it was magic again!
Got 5$ lawn ticket- maybe it’s for free or I start 1$ per month payment plan- not sure
Started adventure from a distant land I’m not in a lot but it’s peaceful and nice
Eventually drove on PCH to Carlsbad and got to Chula Vista
Place used be all free parking now 80% of that is gone

Place had around 1000 lined up- about 950 females not many or any Pacers stripper hot- but all dressed like New Kids. Pretty funny someone was counting guys in line. Around 50 but how many of those wanted to be at the show?7 Married life is so great being forced to spend time doing crap you are against- hysterical
Somehow got seated upgraded to level 2 dead center(ticket worth 150$)
Jeff was badass again- fun hearing Jovi- Nirvana covers in the set again
Paula is MY queen…wow
NKOTB- phenomenal fun well organized show. Really rad. When they came out to crowd to sing and dance on personal stages i was few feet away. Pretty cool life win. Those classic New Kids songs in 2024 sound great…Cover Girl still my favorite in 2024
Show ended I was happy- waited in car for hour..left
Went to best fish taco place in SD..1.29$ each got 5. Place is great restaurant quality tacos that would be 9$ each

Made mistake should have had Red Bull on way home. I was kind of sleepy…but that’s tour life. I’m not sure how LA Guns does this in 2024..shows-driving-eating cheap- tired..repeat 30xs
My tour life is best. I can handle 2-3 shows in 4 days having time of my life. Always touring best place in world the LA- -San Diego- Vegas circle
