Early 2000's rock revival (Buckcherry, etc.)

There seemed to be a little rock revival around the millennium, and the post/pole on American Pearl vs. New American Shame got me thinking what other classic/hard rock influenced bands came out in the early 2000's after the success of Buckcherry?

American Pearl
New American Shame

Silvertide

Yeah, after a while there was less of a backlash against traditional "cock rock". I remember in the early 00s VH1 was doing a ton of Behind the Musics on older bands and many were on comeback tours.

The Darkness, big success in the UK.

I think that it’s worth noting that both Buckcherry’s & New American Shame’s debut albums came out in ‘99, so…I don’t think that that that they were signed in the wake of Buckcherry’s success.

Your right on the release dates (I guess I had the impression that Buckcherry sparked that mini revival because they had the most success).

Essentially seeing if there are any other bands that "fit the mold" (Buckcherry, New American Shame, American Pearl, Silvertide, etc.), from that 2000 +/- time frame that I missed?

Crashdïet hit the ground running with that first record!

Olli who sang on the 2nd record went on to form Reckless Love that put out a few great albums. MUCH more pop sounding than Crashdiet. Both bands are awesome.

Do Swedish Rock n’ Roll bands like The Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Hardcore Superstar, & Babylon Bombs count?

That record came out in 2001... and as good as it was, it was DOA.

That was way before. 1996. They were called Starwood. They named it after the club.

Backyard Babies, Hardcore Superstar and The Hellacopters all came to my mind too. I don't know Babylon Bombs.

The band JET definitely deserves to be mentioned.

This was also around the time the garage rock scene was getting big: The Datsuns, The Strokes, The Hives, etc.

Olli now sings for a Finnish band called Popeda, which is like a Finnish Rolling Stones. Popeda has also former Hanoi Rocks members Costello and Lacu.

That's pretty amazing! I'm happy for him but wish Reckless Love would've got some attention.

If I'm reading this right, they are one of the biggest selling artists in Finland but only less than half a million lifetime sales! Goes to show you how small the market is in other countries.

Dope (the band) should’ve been bigger in the early millennium. They had some great songs and Edsel is the
reason for that. Wish they’d tour with Manson

Yes, Popeda is one of the biggest bands here, but it's a small market. 30000 for a gold record.

When Buckcherry's 15 album came out, I remember thinking this was the kind of album I wanted out of Guns n' Roses.

Axl was still three years away from trying to will Chinese Democracy into existence without an ounce of inspiration.

What about Loudmouth? I remember digging their CD. I believe it was released in 1999.
