Not surprising, but still disappointing.
The first band I ever saw live and one of the all-time best.
Clearly this is the end of their touring days. Will I be shocked if they end up doing a stint in Vegas a year or two down the road? Not really.

Re: Aerosmith Retires
Tyler will be 78 in a couple of years. His voice won’t get any better. Their tour schedule was going to be one night on, two off, and he still couldn’t do it. There will only be a Vegas residency with Avatars, NOT with Steven Tyler.JourneyRules wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2024 1:33 pm Not surprising, but still disappointing.

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Sucks, but yeah, they’ve been done for some time now. Enjoy that retirement, boys, while I continue to enjoy awesomely classic and timeless rock and your equally awesome your Disney coaster.

Axl would have stood in, but I get it. Not sure Joe is the healthiest either these days. All of them have had a health scare or two over the years.

Wow!! Didn't see that coming. But, they did the right thing. Don't tarnish your legacy with tapes, like others.
The power of Sludge compels you.

Why not continue touring with a different singer?

Re: Aerosmith Retires
Say what you want about Aerosmith, but those 70's records were pure meat and potatoes Rock. Contender for best American rock band of all-time. The first time I saw them was when they had bottomed out in the mid-80's, but were coming back hard. During the Permanent Waves tour in a half empty arena I witnessed one of the greatest performances by any band in my life. Here's hoping Steven can eke out a show here and there as by the wording they've just stopped touring.

If you saw them live at any point. You got to see the best frontman in rock doing his thing. Steven Tyler is what every lead singer wishes they could be like on stage. I never saw a bad show , bad vocal performance or mailed in effort by Steven . Great career. Great Band.

Why now? Why not 25 years ago when people besides Mojo still cared?
LIVE N' UNCUT
Re: Aerosmith Retires
The fork has been in this thing for 7 years.....
First, they couldn't insure the retirement tour
Then the lawsuits
Then the band sounded like, well, not Aero
**Prime example of a band that gets sober, then sucks
Cannot deny Rocks, Toys though - Incredible !!!
