The encore thread got me wondering.
I know there's some bands that think the whole Encore thing is stupid (which it is esp. for big name bands who know their fans want to see them play forever).
What are some bands that just rebelled totally against the encore paradigm?

I know I’m blanking on some who do this, but if it counts Metallica aren’t doing encores on this M72 cycle.

John Mellencamp didn't do one when I saw him. He indicated when there would normally be a encore break, talked about how encores are stupid, and then said he would just continue to play without leaving the stage.

I remember one time KISS didn't do an encore. Paul said something about getting close to the 11:00 pm curfew.

I saw Pixies twice this week and they didn't do encores. Manic Street Preachers doesn't either. Journey didn't do an encore when I saw them.

From what I've seen over the years, Tesla doesn't do them. (Although I saw them do what appeared to be a truly spontaneous encore in Chicago.)
