I like the original but this was pretty pointless. Like all of Mötley's covers - they're too close to the original and not as good.
Covers are ok if the band makes it sound like their own - Priest's Diamonds and Rust, VH YRGM and Ice Cream Man, etc.

This is so so bad ...the second Tommy messed with the drum structure the vibe was killed. This one seems like just a platform for John 5 to play all his s*** across a song for no reason.

They definitely made it there own. It was a pleasant surprise on release radar on Spotify! Looks like new song Cancelled will be released on 10/4. Looking forward to that one!

John 5 plays great and I actually like the different groove in the chorus.

I like it because at least it sounds like a hard rock song and not some dissonant nonsense like Sex or All Band Things that they released in the past decade.

They're not making any money from this. Doubt there's any 'up-front' fee and nobody's gonna buy it so no real publishing to speak of. It's not like they're using it in 1989 on Dr. Feelgood. It'll stream 50,000 times, so Motley will make $12 and the BB will get $5.

I liked it until Vince's ridiculous vocals kicked in. If they could have just had him sing without all of the production crap that's necessary for his vocals it'd be great I think.

This was done solely that this could be a new staple in their live set that is easy and will get a huge crowd reaction. Not because the Crue are killing it on stage......just because people already know and love this song.

A cover band in a bar would get the same reaction.

I think Mötley has the same situation as many other veteran artists – they really don’t have anybody around them who they would listen to or who would challenge them. And by this I mean a proper A&R person, label who actually does not release something if it is not good enough or whatever.

I mean, if they would actually have an A&R or whoever they would have to listen to, I seriously doubt stuff like thus would come out. Anybody in their right mind would ask: ”Why you want to release something this cover. WHY?” And at least ask them to execute the song properly, since this sounds like AI based demo, not even a finished idea.

Nobody expects Mötley to come out anything musically ambitious, but at least with a help of somebody out of their bubble, this kind of stuff would not come out. And to call the EP ”Cancelled”. Just no. Just no.

I think it's a whole different world. Do traditional A&R reps even exist anymore? Motley Crue probably has an analytics guy who's all about "harvesting online engagement." Record a cover song, get some attention, and watch everyone comment on it. Even if the song is getting trashed, it's getting hits and that's probably considered a good thing for "brand awareness" or some stupid shit.
