So here's a thought: taper down for about two weeks and then just stop completely. Get past a couple of months, and it gets easier and then no reset even needed. Freedom from that (and more available and disposable income) can be a good thing.

That's the thing, this band DOES suck because Ferrell is a no voice drug addict. Navarro doesn't suck. But in general this is not a good band. Talk about nostalgia, they were marginal at their very best. Ferrell's always been talentless.

Yeah, they brought the weird. So did Suicidal, Faith No More, et al., and were much, much better.

Somehow they were able to cobble 2 great records together, but Dave Jerden may have had more to do with that than the band.

I am not stopping. I was going to jumpstart a manic phase, just because but missing one of the other vital elements. Actually I am not quite thru a half pound bag someone gave me. But there is always the chance I may never start again. It's not like I ever actually tried to quit drinking even if it's been almost 14 years.

Disposable income is not a problem though I am afraid I might have to get a job someday.

His wife posted that he (Perry) was upset about stage volume levels and was feeling like he couldn't hear himself well enough and that it's been an ongoing issue. So instead of working out with the sound guy (he has in-ear monitors), he gets on the guitarist.

We all know that is BS. And enabling. She needs the money train to roll on.

The real issue is that after the other flame-outs early on this tour (particularly New York a few days ago), the rest of the band clearly got on him about the copious drinking on stage. And perhaps whatever drugs he might be adding. He was better the next nigh so probably tried to dial it back. Then he stars "jonesing" for what his body is telling him he needs, and that becomes frustration. It's time for an intervention and probably a 30 day or more pause. It's also time for a Tim Collins-style approach to the tour.

Perry's old and a drunk. He's off the wagon this tour, and has been drinking heavily during shows, and it's affecting his performance. Some music snobs on threads were saying this specific incident was caused by Navarro noodling at the end of a song, and Perry getting pissed and wanting to move onto the next song, but in reality, Perry's just an old, drunk asshole that never could sing for shit, and is now even worse.
