Living in L.A. as many of you likely do, it's fucking insane. Studio City, Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, any club w/ live music etc there are always women who have gone the Michael Jackson route of plastic surgery addiction. It has to be the same neurons in the brain that make anorexia sufferers see a fat person when they look in the mirror.

My gf's sister is this person. She married a rich dude in her early 20's, she has never worked a real job now after all the kids have grown, all she does is look in the mirror, take pics, and notice her flaws. She will pay a girl 2k to put in all her fake hair then pay her the next week to fix it because it doesn't look right. One botox thing has led to 10 more in various places on her face. I can't figure this shit out. It has to be a form of body dysmorphia between the surgeries and weight loss drugs. I can't understand how they don't see what we see.
Then there are the exception cases. I'm drawing a blank right now, but one of them is Oprah. Whatever she has done, it was done right. She looks fantastic at 70.

This always confuses me a bit.
One problem is that we always see the ones that go wrong and when someone goes to far.
Sharon has had a LOT done to her over the years and by and large it for sure made her look better. And nobody accused her of being "addicted to plastic surgery".
The part that I don't understand. There are definitely people who have some kind of major mental issue where they're just constantly trying to do plastic surgery and it looked fucked from day 1.
But there are a lot of people who get plastic surgery and look great because of it, and like I said, we never think about those people.
With someone like Sharon, I have to wonder if these people realize when it was a mistake. For instance, she's had lots done that worked great.
Was there one day she got surgery and afterwards was like "OH GOD, I WENT TOO FAR?". Or is she out of her mind in some way where they doesn't realize it?

There are a lot of celebs who know and admit they made a big mistake. Kenny Rogers and Simon Cowell are a couple that come to mind. Not sure they fit the “won’t leave it alone” group though, so maybe some just can’t see it. It's gotta be an absolutely awful feeling when plastic surgery has worked well for years and then one day it just goes south on you.
Most everyone has that fear of aging/losing their looks, etc., but for most it's a gradual process. In this case, you get hit in the face (tee hee) with a sudden leap AND the realization that plastic surgery is no longer a valid coping mechanism.
With Sharon, there's also the fact that she appears to have lost a pile of weight, which is probably a good thing overall but isn't helping things facially.
I also wonder how often doctors are like "oh jesus" after a surgery. Give them the spiel about "oh yeah uh, there's some acute inflammation, it'll uh, settle in over the next few weeks, uh, and stuff." Or even better, "oh cool now she needs followups".
