I like this, especially when the guy playing Huey comes out and he is spot on. Great music!

Awesome.
Tribute bands can be really embarrassing - the guys with the Halloween store 80s wigs come to mind, but when they're good, they're better than the real thing.
I would rather go see a good tribute band for $0-$15 than the real thing the vast majority of the time.

I saw an R&B tribute band play a similar gig in Torrance over the summer.
Same deal...
Park amphitheater.
Free show.
TIght band, sounding better than the real thing.
Audience in lawn chairs.
Old fucks getting up to dance in the front.

There's a great Chicago tribute band called Leonid & Friends. They Russian/Ukranian. They've stuck together despite the war. They also do 1 or 2 Earth , Wind & Fire songs in their set. Saw them in NYC. They're great.

They are great. I've seen them in the past doing just Chicago songs & damn, do they ever sound like Chicago. The weird thing now is, when they do the non Chicago songs, it sounds like Chicago doing Steely BS&T/EWF etc.
