Your top Rock/Metal Instrumentalists or tracks

Post by Rocker4Real »

What are some of your favorite Rock/Metal instrumentalists or instrumental tracks? It could be Steve Vai for me since I've bought more CDs of his than Satch or anyone else. It used to be common for Thrash bands to have one instrumental track per album. What are some of your favorites?

Since Coast to Coast has already been taken, I'll go with Shotgun Messiah, "The Explorer". That's right. Who saw the coming?

I have an instrumental version of XTC's Skylarking album.
I think it's some of the finest performed and produced music ever recorded.

As long as I'm learning something, I figure I'm OK - it's a decent day.

Pearl Jam songs would have been better if they were all instrumentals

I voted for Shotgun Messiah also
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Isn't Eruption the correct answer here.

Switch and Coast would be 2 and 3 for me.

Can't believe it, but I'd also put Anvil March of the Crabs up there as well.

Eruption and Call of Ktulu are my obvious choices.

Jerry Cantrell’s “Hurts, Don’t It?” is my less-obvious choice.

Dream Theater’s “Dance Of Eternity” is my shameless plug choice. https://youtu.be/EfinzSiz_v8?si=V_r_XkLuYJ86gtXN

"Diary Of A Madman"
"Aja"
