Major contrast btw this vocal style and his AC/DC style. The latter sounds like he's straining to push out a hard stool.

That is crazy, now I am imaging him flawlessly pulling off 'Jane' with no effort.

Of course, he was singing in his usual AC/DC style on Geordie's best known song, "Can You Do It":

Listening to the quality /content of Brian’s lyrics in Geordie, I’m really starting to come around to the idea that they had some Bon leftover lyrics. Nobody’s song writing gets that much better that fast - and I don’t mean Shakespeare quality, just clever but not cliche double entendres. And yes, that is even with Mutt Lange tweaking the words.

There were "leftover lyrics" from Bon indeed, or more like notebooks with written down phrases and titles but not complete song lyrics.
As the lyrics took a nosedive again after FTATR, I have another suspect for the bulk of the BIB/FTATR lyrics. Or two, as Tony Platt has admitted he contributed a line here and there.
But, the main lyricist for BIB and FTATR is not Mr. Platt. With multiple songwriting credits on huge selling albums including two Diamond and one of the few other Double Diamond certified - ladies, gentlemen and assorted sludgers, all the way from Zambia, Africa, I give you the one and only Robert John "Mutt" Lange.

I think you’re right. I’m guessing then it was a special case where Mutt didn’t get songwriting credit ( which I know he did later on with Def Leppard) but took a flat fee/buyout or some other arrangement? Seems like BIB is THE album that really established Mutt, so maybe didn’t have the clout yet to demand credit. After FTATR the lyrics were pretty shitty, though I did like Who Made Who, but there again, Vanda and Young helping out?

Speaking of fast improving songwriting skills - he also produced Def Leppard's High'N Dry which sounds like a multiplatinum arena band fitting in right with AC/DC and Van Halen, just one year after they released On Thru the Night which was a decent but somewhat amateurish NWOBHM album not too far removed from the likes of Lionheart or Tygers of Pan Tang. Coincidence? No Mutt credits on that one either.

The plot thickens. I pulled out my Pyromania 1980s cd from West Germany (!!) which I rarely do as it sounds like crap but they thank.... Trevor Rabin, Mike Slamer and Steve Mann. Don't think those credits are present on later releases.
We all know Slamer was pulled in to play on albums uncredited, most famously Warrant, and according to Rabin's own website "Notably Trevor worked closely with Mutt Lange, who would book him on all his sessions." Steve Mann was guitarist in MSG and Lionsheart together with Rocky Newton who is credited with backing vocals on Hysteria. So who really played and wrote on Pyro in addition to the Leppards and Lange? And is there somewhere a Croatian or Taiwanese CD of Back in Black with Lange, Platt and whoever else credited as songwriters?

That was so weird hearing him sing like that. Great find, thanks for posting it.
