Just got this press release:

As confirmed by management, legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) was shot multiple times early this morning in a Las Vegas, NV street shooting. Lee is fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to fully recover.

Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee took his dog out for a walk in the early morning hours. As the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming. Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time.

Tell me about it. My wife wonders why I don't like the dog. I like the dog, but I dislike being constantly inconvenienced by it. Let someone else pay for the food, medication, vet bills, boarding, etc. and then I'll be the dog's #1 fan.

Sharon contacted him in 2010 about replacing Zakk for some shows and possibly a new album. Jake said only if he gets his songwriting credits for Bark at the Moon. Sharon said she would call him back the next day. She never did so he took that as a no.

That's a bit weird, that it happened as he was leaving the house. You'd normally lean robbery gone wrong but that's crazy. Would love to hear the full story.

Reviews of the neighborhood on Trulia all remark on how it's a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. One even says "peope feel safe walking down the street". Shrug.

Update on Jake E Lee. He was hit 3 times. He was hit in the chest , arm and foot. Bullets missed all major organs except lung. But he is doing well and expected to make a full recovery. This info direct from his manager who I just spoke with. Got very lucky thankfully!

Surprised it didn’t say “Update on Jake E Lee, actually, Jake and I are great friends. He obviously lives in Vegas, which is where I bought a second place. It’s great lots of my great friends, obviously all rockers, live out here. Anyway He was hit 3 times. He was hit in the chest , arm and foot. Bullets missed all major organs except lung. But he is doing well and expected to make a full recovery. This info direct from his manager who I’m also really close with, I actually remember he, Jake, myself, Eric Singer, Mike Tramp, and Stephen Pearcy were on one of the rock cruises I was Emceeing and we were talking about the UFO reissue that just had come out. Anyway, Joel do you remember what cruise that was? No, there’s just so many….actually you know what it may have been M3 or Rocklahoma…gosh, I just can’t keep them straight. Anyway, that’s who I just spoke with. Got very lucky thankfully!
