And I thought Anthony Kiedis was rotten...holy shit. There is an even more putrid piece of produce in the Peppers.
We've all heard the details about River's harrowing last night at the Viper Room. A new book has gotten his girlfriend to identify the man that gave River his final cocktail of substances. It was none other than our favorite funk junkie John.
The Viper Room is the perfect name for that hellhole. What a horrible place to die, surrounded by vampires. That kid deserved better.

River was an adult who made the choice to get mixed up in the lifestyle. When you're doing hard drugs, you accept the risk that every night out like that could be the last one.
Countless times a day, every single day, an addict gives another addict a pill that was too strong, and syringe with the wrong ml, etc. And they die. Best friends, romantic partners, brothers. Gone. Happened right now as I'm typing this.
If you're out one night and a guy you know that uses hard drugs hands you a cup, you can either 1) decline 2) drink it and accept the risk.
No one killed River Phoenix - kid killed himself.

Really no excuse liquor store is next door on corner
Been to Viper Room plenty of times..liquor store always had water and any soda ya want

I think Dio should have kept his lineup intact or mostly intact, I always thought Bain was the weak link of the group. Had RJD been smart and not such an egomaniac, he would’ve snatched up Daisley from Ozzy’s camp and helped improve his cheeseball D&D lyrics.

The point its, every time a good looking musician, actor, whatever OD's and dies, people try to come up with some tragic or romantic story behind it.
They can't mentally accept that this person they admire was a fucking retard - took a drink out of a cup filled with drugs, and died right there on the sidewalk. But that's what happened.
Addicts get together and get high, gambling with their lives. When one of them dies, they all scatter and point fingers.
River Phoenix. Bon Scott. Phil Lynott. Brian Jones. Prince. Jim Morrison. West Arkeen. The guy from Jetboy. No one fucking killed these guys - their dumb asses all accidentally killed themselves.
Nothing mysterious, romantic, or sexy about it.... they all died in a pathetic state.
I have worked with addicts on and off most of my life. Got plenty of empathy or what people in addiction go through, but I have zero fucking tolerance for the conspiracy theories or romantic fanfiction people like to cook up related to overdosing - they got high and died. That's the story.

I think Bain probably played it on the record, but I guess it is possible that Dio had already come up with it or something similar in his demos before Bain showed up.

I was at a friend's bday recently and the subject of the One Direction guy dying in Argentina came up.
Of course there were a few (women) who started in with the; "I think he was killed", blah, blah, blah... as if there was some big cover up.
Dumb C-word alert. She then ranted about this, that and the other, and how it just doesn't make sense.
It makes perfect sense... he was young, dumb, rich, on drugs, going through life and couldn't handle it... so he trashed his Hotel room and checked out. Literally.
Nothing nefarious happened... he simply F#@ked up, and his lack of control cost him the next 3-4 decades of life.

Plenty of scientific analysis is available on what that does and what it can do. Not worth the risk, mate. The only correct decision in regard to heroin is never do it. Not even once.

I’m not nearly as unforgiving of addicts as most of the people posting seem to be, but that said… Frusciante didn’t kill him. Phoenix was already in that life, and once you are, it’s a crap-shoot. Could’ve just as easily happened the other way around.
If Frusciante was a much older guy, goading someone into doin something and then loading him up with a massive dose intentionally that would be a different story I guess. But they were the same age and Phoenix was already into drugs.

Frusciante wasn’t being malicious, when you get high it’s not like you can yelp what you are getting or who you are getting it from. If it wasn’t that night, it could have been any other. Some people have good luck, others don’t and you know this as an addict. This is some romanticized story because it happened on the sidewalk of the ViPeR rOoM. This could have happened literally anywhere and does every single day. People only care because he was famous
