Tommy Henriksen, the guitarist best known for his work with Alice Cooper and Hollywood Vampires, has talked about how he coaxed super-producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange out of retirement to work on Evil World Machine, the debut album by his side project Crosbone Skully.

The album, which is released on November 22, is a concept album that, we're reliably informed, tells the story of "an avenging superhero from outer space, returning to earth to save the world and reconnect with his lost deity love Piper and Kyd, the son he never knew he had."

"Evil World Machine is an unanchored, unapologetic record that’s true to life," Henriksen tells Classic Rock. "The stories are real, reflecting the journey we all go through. It all started with the line, 'I’m Unbreakable' [from the single of the same name, released last year].

"For me, it’s about survival, making it against the odds, growing up with a single mom on welfare, and finding a way through life even when hope feels out of reach. I’m Unbreakable is rooted in loyalty, trust, and survival – the heart and soul of what I come from – because in my hood, those things are earned, not given.

"I had the music and the verse for I’m Unbreakable, but I couldn’t find the right chorus, so I sent it to Mutt Lange to see if we had something here. In true Mutt style, he sent it back with this massive vocal hook, lyrics, and emotion that just hit me square in the face.

"When I heard Mutt’s words, 'Everything Is Possible,' it was like he’d captured exactly what this song is about. Those words meant everything to me, and this track is for anyone who knows what it’s like to struggle and fight through life in this unpredictable world. When times are rough, you gotta stay tough. I’m a warrior… I’m unbreakable."

In an interview in the new issue of Classic Rock, Henriksen reveals more about the moment he heard back from Lange, saying, "I started crying like a baby, it was like Jesus coming back and anointing you!"

It would be nice to sit there working on a song, and being like "man, I don't know what to do with this".

And then being like "ahh.... maybe I'll email it to MUTT LANGE and see what he thinks"

Is this supposed to be "Pirate Metal" or something? Just saw a video for one of the songs and it's got Tommy with the bandana, eyeliner, revolutionary war coat, and even takes out a pirate sword during the guitar solo or something. I don't get some of the old timers still walking up and down the strip with the same type of getup. It's like they were frozen in time since LAG and GNR came out. OK, end of rant. At least it's rock and roll.

The cover makes me think of a lot of the bands on Napalm Records, from Germany. Mostly Euro power metal but they also have the current kings of Pirate Metal, Alestorm. Not sure that's where I'd go to hear deep lyrics about the human condition. Unless swords are also involved.

Is there someone financing this effort? The name of the band is absolutely atrocious.

Just because the one on the left is better looking doesn't mean she's a freak in bed.

It was basically a wife-swap since Shania later married the one on the rights husband. You know at some point all 4 of them were rolling around together in a big sticky pile!

Younger, taller and bigger tits, what's the problem?
Ok, she may not be a wealthy music star but I don't think the guy who produced Leppard, AC/DC and Foreigner, not to mention Shania's own albums, cares about money and fame at 76.

And the Boss dumped Julianne Phillips for Patti Scialfa. Shania aged like milk, btw.

Fun Fact: Tommy Henriksen played bass on a Tuff demo in or around 1992/1993.

He played on the song "A Place Where Love Can't Go", which is on "Regurgitation"

He was also in a band called RUFFKUT who changed their name to The Kut, I'm sure we can all guess why.

Wish it was something good, but there's nothing remarkable on this album. Not bad. Not good. Reasonable.

Tommy is a great talent.

His 2015 album "Tommy Tommy Tommy" is totally different, catchy pop rock stuff and it's abso-fricken-lutely killer.

Great tune! Makes you realize how much Leppard was actually Mutt Lange, if you didn't already know.

AC/DC too. Bryan Adams is a funny case. He made some great albums also before Mutt, but just like Leppard and AC/DC the quality of his albums went downhill drastically after the Mutt album.

Very Def Lep/LA Guns crossover. I will say this, Mutt has clarity with his production.
