IRON MAIDEN guitarist Janick Gers lost his footing and fell on stage during the band's November 20 concert at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, Mexico.
Back in September 2019, Gers, who is always swinging and throwing his guitar during MAIDEN live performances, lost grip of his instrument during a San Antonio, Texas concert and it flew off and hit a security guard in the back of the head and upper torso.

This is great!
No one needs to see him jumping around like a bunch of Kansas City……

Feel like he should have been in another band since Adrian came back. Not saying I haven't enjoyed a few songs he's co-written, but his style of performance never seemed to fit.

Janick has now been released and has returned back to London following medical advice from the hospital and that he must take a full week off for recovery. Unfortunately this has meant that the band have had to cancel their shows in Essen (yesterday) and the shows in Sophia and Athens.
Says Steve Harris, “We are always very disappointed when we are forced to cancel shows in this way but we are also relieved that Janick is recovering as it was a serious fall. We were all very concerned for him when he was taken away in the ambulance. Right now all we can say is sorry to our fans in Germany, Bulgaria and Greece but I’m sure they can understand the reason and will also wish Janick a quick recovery.”

That's weak...I can't count the number of bands with 2 guitar players that don't cancel when one of them is out of commission.
Overkill played as a four piece just 2 weeks ago:

Maiden are lame... And fuck Jannick while we're at it, Adrian and Dave are all they need.

Three dates scheduled for Germany, Bulgaria and Greece in mid-July 2000 were cancelled so guitarist Janick Gers could recover after an accident at Mannheim, Germany, on 8 July: he slipped, fell off the stage, sustained a concussion and sprained his back.
BNW tour.
So stupid, Cancelling those shows. What, Dave and Adrian couldnt handle the guitar parts for 3 shows? Seemed to work all right from 81-89.
Everything about Maiden is this weird "integrity" thing that makes no sense.
• Hire an idiot who cant sing the old catalog and stick with him way longer than makes sense
• Hire a dork on guitar and keep him in the band even when the cool guy comes back
• Insist on subjecting your fans to the crappy new material, when there's quality old material that they want to hear.

Janick may act like a dork but he is natural soloist like Dave .
Adrian may be better at harmonising but be is not on par with Murray when it comes to fast runs .
And Blaze did a great job on both records

Does anyone who’s a guitarist know exactly what he does in concert, guitar wise? I see the videos and while Dave and Adrian are hunched down doing their harmonies, he seems to be just adding a rhythm accent every now and then, almost like a keyboard or a percussion player.
Does he ever just double a Dave or Adrian riff? Did he always dance around when he was on his own and responsible for all of the guitar playing?
He just seems to have easiest job out of all of them, no wonder he dances.

Now I understand....Bruce is a spy. And the reason Janick has continued to have a job with him is because he serves as his cover.

I’m sure he’s a nice enough chap but I prefer the band prior to him joining.
I’m a fan of a lot of the stuff after he joined, especially BNW onward. But I concur
that he doesn’t need to be there.
