Peppermint Creeps were a force, for a minute... with their over-the-top image, etc...

Traci Michaelz (RIP) was 1-of-a-kind, and was beloved by most everyone he came in contact with. A sweetheart of a guy.

His funeral was rumored to be, one of the biggest crowds to ever attend one at the Hollywood Forever cemetary. > https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/316 ... i-michaelz

I did not go, but know people who did... and I recall reading about and hearing things that were very unique, mind-boggling and in step with who Traci was.

Bands were asked to bring their band stickers, and put them on the coffin. Which to my recollection, was a plenty. I also recall people bringing stuff, like bottles of Jack Daniels, Drum Sticks, Stage clothes (scarfs), etc... and putting it in the coffin at the open casket viewing.

The band and family/friends, also made back-stage passes, laminates for guests to wear at the funeral. Crazy, but... exactly what Traci would have wanted.

Full disclosure, when I heard of his death, I cried... he was a good dude, and a Proud Father. He ran away from home to come to Hollywood when he was an underage teenager.

He and I worked together for a short period, at a strip club in The Valley... and spending some time with him, away from the heart of Hollywood nightlife, showed me who he really was. One of the first things he did when we hung out the 1st day, was opened his wallet and pulled out a picture of his kid. I think it was a daughter, I don't recall that detail for sure, but he was very proud.

I have nothing but respect for Traci, his band, the members, and all they stood for... very good people who believed in themselves and stood strong regardless of the haters.

Once again, RIP Traci Michaelz, who died on tour, in Texas at 34, way too young!

Everything you said looks accurate to me. To add, Traci was also laid to rest in full stage make up. Traci had two daughters and the oldest one played drums with the Creeps for a Ramones medley encore at the Whisky show this past March.

We only play an occasional show at the Whisky, most recently this past March. The band did a few US tours and went to Europe in 2008 but after playing shows in France and Italy the fine folks in London kicked us out for not having proper paperwork. 10 shows were cancelled.
