Amazing show . Pure gold . The whole band is on fire .
Everyone in the band - except Blaze - knew it was their last show with him .

I'd actually like to have a cleaned up version of this. Blaze always did great with Afraid to Shoot Strangers.

The Angel and The Gambler has to be about Steve Harris losing a bet to some Romanian Gypsy and being forced to hire Blaze as punishment.
Should have brought back Dianno.

lol. the whole band includes Blaze. You're out of your mind. You've been left in an oven car and baking is wild.

Blaze attempting to be a front man and get the crowd chanting at the end. You just feel sorry for him really.
Last week I listened to Wolfsbane's live album Massive Noise Injection - which I was at the recording of - and it was all kinds of great. But it's obvious that although his level of frontmanship worked very well in a club (The Marquee held about 750/800 iirc) it wouldn't ever translate to arenas and stadiums. He'd have had to radically change his style, and he couldn't.
I've never actually listened to Blaze-Maiden: at the time I was pissed off with him breaking up one of my then-fave bands, and since then I've read little but negativity. Even though Bernie, in general, is about as curmudgeonly as the late and unlamented twat Michelish, he's probably right here.

I've never actually watched an entire Bayley-era Maiden show from start to end even though there's no shortage of those on Youtube, only selected bits here and there and they were enough to convince that Bayley was very out of his depth.
But thanks to Bernie, his rundown of this gig was probably much more entertaining than the actual footage .

After finally getting around to listening to the first Wolfsbane album, it would have made more sense if Blaze joined Van Halen and Cherone joined Maiden

Cherone def seems boring enough to get along with Steve, Adrian and Dave

The video is fun to watch… BUT, I’ll never understand how Blaze got that job.

Yeah, he has moments in Wolfsbane in which he sounds A LOT like Roth.
I am a big fan of The X Factor and Virtual XI has its moments, but live everything was so awkward. Not only the vocals and how he failed miserably on the Bruce songs, but he always seemed so uncomfortable onstage. In Wolfsbane he was supposed to be a great frontman, but in Maiden he projected zero self confidence. I saw The X Factour and had a good time, but I really felt sorry for the guy, he clearly was not enjoying it.

Imagine hiring a guy to be lead singer that can't sing most of your catalog.

Oh fuck, we’ve entered the death spiral of the “don’t you think I’m a saviour” part.
I always felt this part gave the song a real edge . It was so out of left field
