Interesting. Foreigner and Skynyrd were the perfect bands for this, faceless bands with huge hits and multiple line-up changes. Journey could probably pull it off, maybe even Leppard. I have more doubts about say Bon Jovi, AC/DC or Guns where one or two members are the face of the band.
