Do you think it bothers Gene and Paul that there is no KISS channel on Sirius XM radio ?

I mean there is a Bob Marley Channel… Dave Matthews Band channel… Pearl Jam channel..
Phish channel… Springsteen channel.. Tom Petty channel… BB King channel…

There was a limited edition KISS channel at one point, probably to promote something new. About 15 years ago. The playlist was very random. Tuned in, heard "Mr. Blackwell," then tuned out.

For a band that "isn't a real band," they got $300 million for their catalog.

If you break it down per song that means Gene got 1.29 million for Burn Bitch Burn

Paul got 1.29 million for Just A Boy.

Just how think about how great that is.

BernieTaupson wrote: Wed Jan 01, 2025 5:31 pm No, they got $300 mill for their trademarks and the opportunity to own the master licensing rights for KISS merch and do the Avatar idea, which is a digital circus act. And if that doesn’t work out I’m sure they’ll have official tribute bands in casinos etc. Circus act.

Gene and Paul sold off their catalogue in the late 80s when they were broke. They couldn’t sell it to Pophouse because they didn’t own it. They sold the rights in 1989 to Horipro who decades later sold to MOJO, or became MOJO, can’t quite remember.

That’s why Gene and Paul never promoted stuff like the Destroyer remix, Love Gun Deluxe and the COTN boxset. They weren’t making any money off it so they didn’t care. Knowing those two it wouldn’t surprise me if they said to Universal, pay us x and we’ll promote it and do interviews, and it didn’t happen.
Interesting. But, wait... I thought Gene was a genius businessman.

Safe to say that everything he ever did not directly related to the circus act was a fucking flop though. Tongue magazine, cancelled. Simmons Records was a flop both times. Movie career was a flop. Couldn’t get bikini car wash off the ground. His promo campaign I Am Indy was a massive fail and IndyCar even put out an official apology for bringing him in to market their races!
So far Pophouse has done nothing but ”worked on” the avatars nobody cares about (avarage Kiss fan must be over 60 by now).
The 50 year anniversary of the debut album went by without any activities last year!
Pophouse seem clueless regarding Kiss but they will survive because of their Abba money.

How many songs does kiss even have? Could they support a music channel ala Elvis or the Grateful Dead or whoever?

The shitty 80's stuff should never be played, making it even slimmer pickings

Most of those channels (Pearl Jam, Springsteen, DMB, Grateful Dead) are of bands that are known as great live bands and have thousands of shows recorded that they can play on those channels. KISS has sounded terrible live for decades (I'm being generous by insinuating that they did sound good at some point in their career), so that would not work for them.

The Sirius XM Channels aren't necessarily predicated on live performances - you also need to have a decent catalogue of quality music. One hour on repeat would get stale very quickly.
