Neil Young Cancels Glastonbury Due to Corporate Request
Wonder what the request were?
“We were told the BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot for things we were not interested in. It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being. We will not be playing Glastonbury on this tour because it is a corporate turn-off, and not for me like it used to be,” he continues. “Hope to see you at one of the other venues on the tour."

Go home, tend to your special needs son, and play with your trains, you mildly talented Canuck douchebag.

Yeah he always comes across as c*nt! He played Detroit (Fox theatre) over 10 years ago and banned alcohol sales. He comes walking out on stage with a beer.
I’m completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. These two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death.

My guess is it had something to do with streaming/youtube rights.cowpins wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 5:26 am Wonder what the request were?

I’m as liberal as they come but this sort of shit just annoys me.
People throw the word “corporate” around like a slur and there’s never any specifics.
“Corporate Media” is my favorite example. Uh, yeah, these are capitalist societies. Would people who say this prefer state media? Do they think podcasters aren’t also primarily motivated by profit? The word just gets thrown around so much that people seem to forget what it means.
Glastonbury ain’t Woodstock, and it never was.

If Neil doesn’t want to play, he certainly doesn’t have to.

Looks like Neil is back!!
"Neil Young reverses decision on canceled Glastonbury performance"

> "Neil Young is back on the bill at Glastonbury.
Three days after announcing that he’d pulled out of a planned performance at this year’s edition of the venerable English music festival, the 79-year-old rock legend said Friday that the gig was “happily” back on his touring itinerary and that he and his collaborators “look forward to playing.”
Young had written Tuesday on his website that he and his band the Chrome Hearts “were told that BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in. It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way I remember it being.”
On Friday, Young updated his post and blamed an unspecified “error in the information received” for his cancellation" <
Dude is whack! Hey Neil, speaking of corporate, I bought a Pono player that's a paperweight now, I want my money back!!

It's good to be bad
It's the best time you'll ever have
What the hell is this ultra sad
Pray for your cool and work on that ass!

Re: Neil Young Cancels Glastonbury Due to Corporate Request
When I read the title I thought he ditched Glastonbury to do a corporate gig. Ala Bon Jovi with the NY State Fair.
