He’s not as good as Paul Stanley at lip syncing.
Someone should tell him that when you are filming yourself singing but you’re standing a foot away from the mic and facing sideways… yet the audio you are hearing is obviously recorded with your voice up against the microphone in close range, that it might be obvious to the viewers that you are faking it.
Also, it’s annoying when he makes that noise with his mouth in between what he is saying.

i've watched his channel off and on a while ago in sort of a trainwreck way. the dude is undoubtedly weird. i guess he can sing and maybe teach, but it's been proven that a lot of his content (even live stuff) is pre-recorded. i eventually had to tell the YouTube algorithm not to recommend his videos. a lot of his "students" also have channels, and it's uninteresting. none of his students are headed to the bigtime.

I liked his then and now comparison videos.
He was always positive and seemed really nice.
But he comes off as one of those guys that has a scandal waiting to happen. I hope not, but he gives that creepy/preacher vibe.

he makes his students pre-record as well, so it's all like a lipsynch course, I would really like to see live videos of him singing.

Has he ever been questioned by Chris Hansen?

I don't know why anyone would even want to sing like this. He's got a couple techniques that one might find useful but for the most part he sounds like an impressive karaoke singer.
Just practice singing and build your voice up. That's it. You don't need to curl your tongue like a fucking freak.

100%, he's got that overly nice/enthusiastic vibe that's often someone working really hard to cover up the demons.

I don’t remember the exact details, but when I worked with Ron Anderson I was told he had to take KT to court to get him to stop claiming he learned from him and taught his methods because he was so bad at what he was doing.
So, no, not legit.
Here’s a very simple metric - judge a voice coach by their clients. Think of how prevalent Ken Tamplin is, and then ask yourself if any actual notable singer works with him.

In recent months, several online discussions, including a few Sludge threads, have emerged regarding KT. Some of the youtube videos were quite humorous. One more serious particular line of inquiry involved a spectroscopic analysis (or a similar technique - I don't recall exactly) of his live vocal performances which compared his live singing voice to recordings from decades past, revealing a potential discrepancy in frequency domain signatures. This discrepancy led to a conclusion he was lip-syncing during these performances, a claim he vehemently denied. So based on this, I would say that currently he is not legit.
However, despite his recent fake singing notions, I vaguely recall his claim that he declined lead vocalist position offers with renowned bands such as Journey, Motley Crue, and a few others. I have not looked in the confirmation of the the veracity of these claims, however, their existence suggests that at one point in his career, he was considered a legitimate and potentially highly sought-after vocalist within the music industry.
