Interesting lineup, but a very good lineup. Would think Warren had somewhat of a say as to who he would return to the stage with.
I’m sure Bobby has his lineup ready to go here soon - back on the pad

Blas > Blotzer
The law is they had to have a drummer with a similar name, so Blas is close enough and he's an upgrade.
Overall, the weakest link of the band is Pearcy.

Did Blotzer retire?
I vaguely remember hearing about a new band (possibly a super-group) he was forming, but I haven't heard anything about it since.

He and Pearcy had a falling out which led to that last scab linup of Ratt ending.
People speculate it's because Peacy buried the hatchet with Blotz and wanted to let him come back, which Juan was not going for.
But now Peacy is doing a show with Warren and Blotz isn't involved.
Can't even keep up. It's classic Ratt - isn't it?

Sad that these grown men can't get it together even just enough to do some shows, make some money, and make some people happy before it's too late. None of them are getting any younger. How much time do they really have left?

Why can't they just call it ratt?

Presumably because Croucier is still a partner in the business, and he's been quite clear that he won't work with the other partners. And since Pearcy has been on good terms with Blotzer the last couple of years, it seems a safe assumption that DeMartini's involvement was conditional on A) no Blotzer and B) bringing back Cavazo, and Pearcy agreed to it.
This is basically half Pearcy solo (Pearcy, Thorne, Elias) and half latter-day RATT (Pearcy, DeMartini, Cavazo). I'm good with it.

Which is exactly what I wrote in my article announcing M3 the other day.

Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini will headline Sunday night and it marks their first live gig together in many years… but, it’s not being billed as Ratt, yet rather, “Performing Ratt”.
No Juan and no Blotz, and as to whom the duo will enlist to fill those spots and play the harmony leads with Warren, is not entirely known as of press time, but maybe they’ll call up Carlos Cavazo?
It’s a good bet it might be a member or two from Pearcy’s solo band.
Perhaps Blas Elias (Slaughter, T.S.O.) will appear on drums, and or Matt Thorne (Rough Cutt) on bass… both make perfect sense, with each having their own storied career and history in the business, Cavazo included.
The early rumor into the Metal Sludge inbox is, that this Pearcy & DeMartini thing, is separate from Pearcy‘s solo band, and we have heard, the Ratt duo are looking to do more gigs and this will likely become a thing into the forseeable future.

Great lineup, and good for them... all have their history and are deserved of the fruits that will come from this.
I think in short, the "solo" band, errr... the other guitarists are going to be looking for work, as the guarantees from THIS lineup will walk all over the current.
Kudos to SEP, Warren and the others.

Here are some highlights from the Eddie Trunk interview.
On new music:
Stephen kept talking about wanting to do new music, and was jokingly saying he might have to force Warren in the studio.
Warren gave this convoluted response about getting ideas down, and there's this weird way of finding their way to the public. He was non-committal about new RATT songs.
On using the RATT name:
Stephen they're not using the name because it's doesn't have all the proper elements which would include Robbin and they don't want to hit a brick wall. They just want to celebrate the legacy of Ratt. Eddie asked if Juan or Blotz will be involved and Stephen said no.
On who will be involved:
Carlos Cavazo, Matt Thorne and Blas Elias.
On future shows:
Stephen seemed excited about more dates.
Warren mentioned other stuff has come up, but didn't say whether he was interested in it or not.

what are they falling out about?
There’s no new music, no new direction of the band.
You just look at the data & play the most popular songs and go homr

Next year Pearcy will be on Trunk with Juan taking about how Warren isn’t returning his calls and Juan is his brother-in-arms since 1982.

I was thinking the same thing. He's just not an interview guy. Nothing wrong with that. I also think he's just not that enthusiastic about this. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being a one-time thing, or just a few one-off's with Pearcy.

If you believed Pearcy last year, none. His tour last year was celebrating 40 years of Out of the Cellar, but he was also billing it as farewell gigs.
I'm a little surprised that Cavazo came back. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy, I think he's the best Robbin replacement they've had (Schenker never felt right in that role, you could always tell he was just a hired gun), but when things fell apart before, it seemed like he was done with that circus.
Maybe he just wanted to play with Warren again. Also, would have figured they would have grabbed Pete Holmes or Jimmy DeGrasso for this instead of Blas, just because they have more history together, but any of them should be able to do a decent job.

Cavazo deserves his spot back just for showing loyalty to Warren and leaving the band at the same time.

Croucier didn't play on Ratt 1999 or Infestation so I'm not sure how much he is still a "partner in the business." Blotz played on all the albums and has a co-writing credit on a song for each of those last two albums, so maybe it's possible he has some rights to the name and/or can prevent them from touring as Ratt.

After the lawsuits that followed Blotzer stealing the name, the living four guys were determined to be equal partners/owners.
The other three immediately voted to kick Blotz out of the partnership, so it's just Stephen, Warren and Juan that own the name now.
Pearcy and Warren *could* call it Ratt if they wanted to, but Pearcy already said he didn't want to call anything Ratt if it's not all the living guys.

These two are fried. Both can barely form a cogent sentence.
