Saw the commercial earlier this week. It’s a no.
Watched Ohio State blow it with Illinois then Rory win.
Watching a rerun of America's Funniest Home Videos.

Awesome! I was a watching ESPN plus coverage of featured groups since they went off at 1045 this morning. At least you had the best announcer doing that basketball game. Kevin Harlan is an absolute legend the best!!!

Beatles and Stones win Grammys for "Now and then" and Hackney Diamonds. Is this 2025 or 1969?

Beyoncé also won best country duo with Miley Cyrus.
Hopefully she’s not even nominated at the CMA’s.

It's about commerce and industry insiders patting themselves on the back.
It's more about marketing than talent.

63 year old band of 80+ year olds win best rock album, great album but rock really must be almost dead … The Beatles and Stones “started” it and apparently they ended it tonight!
Very cool.

The Air Jordan commercial was awesome
Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars killed it!!!

Are you serious...?
They looked like a high school talent group compared to the original CA Dreaming.
Weak......
Speaking of weak, how about the Week-ended...?
Horrid.
Even Billie was lip-synced........
New Gag single is bruuuuuuuutal...
And no, Sabringa Carpenter is not going anywhere past this record.
Kudos on a sold-out tour, but she sucks

The Lady Gaga/Bruno Mars song is awesome. Work just put the hits channel on Sirius on so I finally heard it this past week. It’s a fantastic song. Die with a smile is excellent. He is certainly making himself relevant again! Must still owe gambling debt

Woo-hoo go Sabrina Carpenter!
Do agree she won't go past this record though.

There are no bands anymore.
Not one band tonight up for any category on tv other than the Beatles and the Stones.
Sad. It did start and end with them.
Will bands ever be a thing again or are they dead?

Best of Metal :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hTMYk7orHw
Followed by:
"Crown of Horns," Judas Priest
"Suffocate," Knocked Loose Featuring Poppy
"Screaming Suicide," Metallica
"Cellar Door," Spiritbox
Crown of Horns shoulda taken this easily.

The nominees for Album of the Year.
André 3000 – New Blue Sun
Beyoncé – Cowboy Carter
Sabrina Carpenter – Short n’ Sweet
Charli XCX – Brat
Jacob Collier – Djesse Vol. 4
Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft
Chappell Roan – The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess
Taylor Swift – The Tortured Poets Department
Beyonce won, but whatever. That album didn't give her fans what they wanted and didn't win over the country market. The entitlement is absurd. Has been for years.
Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Charli XCX were the ones who connected with the general public in 2024. And Taylor Swift is still the biggest pop star in the world.

Grammys are not a popularity contest.
Cowboy Carter is one of the most acclaimed albums of 2024 (91/100 at Metacritic).

Everyone knew Beyoncé was going to win even before the songs were written.
And just by looking at the nominees in the rock categories you can tell the Grammy Academy is trying to bury all things rock.

Not a single band in the UK top 40 right now. All solo artists/colabs.

Proud to say that I didn't even channel surf to the Grammy's this year. Watched the most recent ep of Severance then the wife kept binging Ted Lasso. Not into it so went to bed.

The band "Dawes" opened the Grammy's & they were also on the Fire Aid concert. They have been around for a while, though.

Yup, I listen to a lot of country radio, and they never played her after the first week.
For the first time in years, I actually enjoyed the show. Especially the new artists. Teddy Swims, Roan, Benson Boone, Shaboozy etc. I might not enjoy their music, but they can all sing and have some showman in them.
I was floored by RAYE. never heard of her, but she was amazing. Never heard of Doechii either. Her performance was terrible, but I did like the song...had that retro 80's rap sound.
If you go in realizing that rock doesn't exist to the grammy's then it's way more enjoyable. Only real downside was that host. He's not funny, and he talks way too much.

The last rock star to come on to the scene was Jack White - that was over 20 years ago. Hasn't been a single bona-fide rockstar since.
Rock is not a relevant category anymore - it's like the grammy for classical or choir or jazz - it's not featured because it doesn't matter anymore. People like the old stuff, but the new stuff doesn't matter.

I'd say Kanye's moron wife getting basically butt naked on the red carpet and getting them kicked out was kinda notable.
It is obvious to me that music is getting close to not really being a thing anymore. I'd rather dive into a wood chipper than listen to anything Beyonce has ever done. People look back at the disco era and say "Oh that was terrible music". Disco sounds like fucking Mozart compared to the tortuous crap we give awards to now.
