Song/full video to be released on Wed, new album coming in April
Very un-PC/'80s album art (not complaining!)

Weird to release this section -
No hook, vox, etc....
Phil, while looking good for a 70 year old dude, should not wear mesh....
Also, they focus on one person at the end in the crowd, who's literally old an bald......Strange
Not suer what the "tease" is......
How about a hot chick in a vintage convertible with a kick-ass riff like Sex Action...??????????
Prob would get me to preorder quicker, just sayin................................

I mean, it's just the first 26 seconds of the video that's coming out in 2 days. It's not some kind of album promo.

BACK to Cleopatra! These guys have like 30 records at this point if you add up all the compilations, demos, live records, covers.
Good for them for staying active. I think this is record #4 for Guns/Lewis but I really only like the first one (Missing Peace). Even though the mix was poor there were some good songs on there and great guitar playing. Hoping for something good here with this new record!

You are actually correct. Compared to most of the other bands of the genre, L.A.Guns have always lacked good hooks. Sure, throughout their catalogue there are some songs with memorable choruses and whatnot.
But on a general level, they really lack catchy song writing.

LA Guns have plenty of hooks. They're not the best pop writers in the genre, but it's not like they're Blue Murder or something.

Whomever mentioned this bands lack of hooks has absolutely nailed it. Cool image and attitude in the beginning but that part was always missing.
Few genuine questions -
1. How the fuck are they still interested in writing songs around these dumb riffs, 40 years in?
2. Who is this new stuff realistically for? I’m assuming their shows are all 80s/90s era stuff?
3. Why would a ‘label’ pay for this? Do they actually make any of their guarantee/advance back? Do advances at this level even exist?
4. If they genuinely love writing this stuff in 2025, then more power to them. But I just don’t see who is gaining here. Money or joy or otherwise? It certainly isn’t hooks.

This makes no sense. "Hooks" are as subjective as anything else in life. But it's pretty clear they had plenty of songs that were catchy (or whatever descriptor you want to use) to have a catalog as deep as theirs. You don't have to like these tunes, but if you don't hear the hook, that's on you to go listen to some death metal then.

Wheels of Fire
Over the Edge < Hooky enough to be on the Point Break soundtrack AND Melrose Place at the time.

Killing Machine
Ritual

Man in the Moon

Full song and video are out. I like it. Can't stand Phil and Tracii these days but couldn't help but like the song.
AVJ and his gum are the stars of the video.

Where are the cranked guitars, Marshall 800's, rock n roll attitude....????
That last few records have suffered from bad mix and eq.
For literally $100/track you can have someone master the stuff proper.
How does this record stack up against Tales from the Strip for example.....????
TBD

They've been going for a glam 70s sound since getting back together.
This doesn't do anything for me, but they're happy with what they're doing. More power to 'em.
Solo section is pretty cool. Tracii was the only guy that could have taken Mick's spot in Crue, shame Tracii burned that bridge.

If by "killing it", you mean releasing a glut of forgettable filler, since the (faux) reunion, then yes I agree.
However, IMO this is the best single the reunion has produced.
Phil's vocals sound weird?, like he is singing higher than he normally does, and the guitars are a little too clean.

It sounds to me, unconfirmed of course, that the vox take is blended and there's a chick singer layered in - Who knows.
The vox mix toward the end of V1 leaves a lot to be desired.
Not a fan of the "cleanish" guitars, bring the rock dirt!

I was thinking the same thing with the female singer. The video does the song no favors. I listened to the song again (with no video) and it's a bit better.

Hmmmm... well, to be 100, I was expecting more... as previous singles seemed to be stronger than expected.
And the video acting is pretty much straight to video VHS meets horrible as F#@K!

I listen to it once and I will be surprised if I play it ever again. The solo was pretty cool. The song was pretty boring. I would write it like a 4.5 out of 10

Ritual was a brilliant track , I’m hoping that they’ll use that as a starting point for an album sound/style/vibe at some point.

I don't mind it but it doesn't sound like L.A Guns - I'm hearing more Ratt (specifically Round and Round) and Cinderella in there. I think it's because Phil's voice sounds so different.
Will come back to it a few times to see if it sticks.
