Absolutely. Saw their most recent show to date at Aftershock last year and they sounded just as good as the last time I saw them 20 years earlier.

To me they have a groove and swagger that most other thrash bands don’t, and not just with Dave.

They’ve of course got their three classic albums between ‘86-‘90 but I also have to nominate “Disciple” as one of the heaviest and angriest songs ever recorded.

I’m also a terrible Slayer fan because Diabolus in Musica was the album they were promoting when I got into them. “Bitter Peace” is awesome.

Hell Awaits, South of Heaven, Season in the Abyss, Divine Intervention and Decade of Agression are all awesome as well...

Diabolus is when they started to lose the plot a bit...God Hates Us All is pretty good...and the last 3 are kinda like Slayer by numbers, autopilot, some good tunes here and there but no match for their first 6 albums (come to think of it, quite a few bands bang out 6 great albums and then turn to meh!)

I don't, particularly. Don't care for the vocals or much of the guitar playing, really. I don't pick up much groove or melody that other thrash bands have in abundance. Slayer's always been way at the bottom of the heap, for me.

No, but I don't get Metallica, Anthrax or Thrash, in general. I love Megadeth & Voivod, though.

Love SHOW NO MERCY, but when they found their own voice instead of delivering a NWOBHM-tribute I lost interest.

Great stuff from Show No Mercy up to Divine Intervention. After that it takes a dive. Lots more miss than by on the later stuff.

Nope. I know I’m in a small minority but I don’t like them or Metallica. I prefer something a bit more melodic. A lot of my friends love them.

No. I have one song on my iPod, South of Heaven, and I have to be in the mood for it. Their satanic shtick grew old after a few albums.

Araya isn't a good singer and King 's ego is laughable considering his talent level. The only good musicians from that band are gone or dead.

Saw them live in their "prime" and, to this day, they are the worst big name band I have ever seen. W.A.S.P. blew them off the stage.

I thought the general consensus would be like FreddyFender's post: "They're pretty terrible, but fun live."

I sort of forgot that Kerry King was/is a member of the band.
