They have never been even nominated yet I believe. They definitely should be nominated and get in. Surprised they can't get nominated compared to many acts that do. Do you think AIC will end up making "hall of fame". Just on influencing other bands should get in.

Eventually they will...them, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and Smashing Pumpkins all deserve it from that era but get no love (Soundgarden's nomination this year notwithstanding)

Rock 'n Roll HOF is something we should all ignore, it's pure BS. Just go about your life pretending they don't exist, you'll be better off for it.

Good/funny read:
25 Rock Stars Who Have Criticized the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Bruce says it well here:

Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson: 'It's Worse Than Horrible, It's Vulgar'
Few rock stars have been as outspoken about their hatred of the Rock Hall as Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. "I actually think the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is an utter and complete load of bollocks, to be honest with you,” he said during a 2018 speaking engagement. “It’s run by a bunch of sanctimonious bloody Americans who wouldn’t know rock ’n’ roll if it hit them in the face. They need to stop taking Prozac and start drinking fucking beer.” A month later he doubled down: "I'm really happy we're not there and I would never want to be there. If we're ever inducted, I will refuse — they won't bloody be having my corpse in there. ... Rock 'n' roll music does not belong in a mausoleum in Cleveland. It's a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it's dead. It's worse than horrible, it's vulgar."

They should've been in the RNRHOF years ago. Their influence on present-day rock is immeasurable.

But I'm not Eddie Trunk so I'm just going to go about my day not caring what hippies think.

Never nominated.

I get that they’re not everyone’s cup of tea around here, but “I started singing/playing guitar” because of Layne and Jerry is a sentiment that’s a lot more widespread with them compared to…a hell of a lot of artists who are already in.

Will they? Who knows.

Should they? Absolutely, in my opinion. First ballot. One of my very favorite bands.

Yeah, I expect them to. Layne had a ton of charisma as a frontman, and Jerry was a consummate songwriter by far. And they were very influential to future rock acts.

Yeah, this horse is so dead at this point, it's just not even worth thinking about.

They might be my favorite band. That said, since it’s been mentioned so many times here- what bands did they influence? I guess that’s just not something I’ve thought about much.
