Now there's some production cost on a low batch number like 8 units.

Also the thing that stood out for me - Eyes as big as saucers! She was in Andy Gibb's dressing room 5 minutes before this shot.

$2500 for a gold plated record is pretty steep. The amount of gold on gold-plated things is next to nothing. I'm still not understanding how these things are going to be playable.

Gotta love all the FAQhead saying you’d have to be like a billionaire to buy this. Considering most KISS fans are around 50-ish or older $50K isn’t exactly a lottery fortune. Especially if it is viewed as an “investment”. Of course you are mentally ill if you actually believe buying this is a good idea, but they are acting like it’s just some KISS swag for a million bucks that’s gonna wind up in a tub in the basement with all your Spencer’s crap. Is that place full of high schoolers or something?

I’m thinking of buying all 5, melting down 4 of them and watching the value go through the roof for only one in existence. Plus, think of the story it would have behind it.

I always wondered about that. Let’s say there are 2 copies of Superman #1 and they are worth $5M each. If you bought them both and destroyed one of them would the ONLY existing copy then be worth even more than the two copies combined? How does that work?

The difference is that Superman 1 was just a stupid throwaway for kids that then subsequently became a cultural phenomenon. No one knew it would be worth a shit, so they all got tossed and now the few remaining are ultra rare and valuable.

This Kiss thing is just modern manufactured bullshit with a planned limited edition, and there's nothing historical about it. If anyone did want their own unique copy, they should just make one bespoke from the same company that manufactured these, prolly a lot cheaper, and they can pick whatever song they want.

No, I’m not comparing the two (and was obviously joking anyway). The point I was making was if there are only 2 of something highly sought after and you destroy one making the other the ONLY one, could this increase the value of the single remaining one to even more than the combined 2 existing copies? Surely ONLY ONE has to carry an extra level of value.
