One of those bands that I should have like back then. I remember getting it. Loved the sound, singer had a cool voice..cd had a huge sound. There was just something missing.
Seemed like they were trying to be a heavier Tesla. Going through it now, and is exactly how I remembered it. Great sound, but songs don't seem to have it. Nothing Great about a Heartache is a pretty cool ballad
Guitarist rips on it though.
Curious Intentions is not terrible.

Their debut in '92 wasn't good timing. Also, being marketed as a teen band produced by Steve Vai didn't help.

Yeah, but Refugee is still an awesome album.Rocker4Real wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 6:52 am Their debut in '92 wasn't good timing. Also, being marketed as a teen band produced by Steve Vai didn't help.

I thought the tie in with Vai’s The Audience is Listening is the only reason they got any attention.Rocker4Real wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2025 6:52 am Their debut in '92 wasn't good timing. Also, being marketed as a teen band produced by Steve Vai didn't help.
Plus the single Nineteen was an unreleased Thin Lizzy song (at the time at least) so that was kinda cool.
It’s got some good songs like this one and Nothing Great About a Heartache that was mentioned above. Good production. I didn’t like the singer very much tbh.
I haven’t listened to the album in ages! I’ll dig it up later.
