Kinda sounds like Black Label Society... if Black Label Society was good.
Man oh man, what a sound Holmes gets out of that Strat. You can make fun of his John Sykes-esque work rate, but quality ain't his issue.

Good production.
I met Mike Bordin at the Cliff Burton Day thing in Castro Valley a couple weekends ago. He was near the merch area and I overheard him talking about Joe Holmes. Couldn’t help myself and when he had a free moment told him Ozzfest ‘97 was my first metal show when I was 13 when he was playing with Joe with Ozzy and with Sabbath. I’ll just say that guy is very nice and he likes to tell stories.
I believe the last time Bordin and Trujillo were the rhythm section on an album was Jerry Cantrell’s Degradation Trip, so this Joe album is likely to be awesome.

Very excited about this record. Everything he's released so far has been killer.

To mimic another thread here, what's this guy's deal? Is he the Vinnie Vincent of Ozzy, a cult/reclusive figure who had a moment in the sun after his boss was past his prime that a small (but occasionally vocal) number of people still revere? I realize he was Ozzy's touring guitarist for a few years, but until five seconds ago (thanks, Wiki), I had no idea that he only played on one Ozzy song, and it wasn't even a song from an Ozzy album. Dude must've been smart with his money management, as it doesn't seem like he's done very much in the 25 years since he was canned.
I guess the Vinnie comparison doesn't quite hold up in that VV wrote/played on some notable Kiss songs/albums and was in the band at a key moment in their timeline (Rio, the MTV unmasking). Holmes, meanwhile, was the guitarist on tours in support of two of Ozzy's worst records. Don't get me wrong - guy can surely play, or he'd never have gotten the gig in the first place. Just curious why people still care after all these years. Were there Randy purists who hated Zakk's flash and squeals who thought Holmes did RR's parts justice?

On the teaser videos, he's playing a Gibson.

Ehhh some combination of the fact that he took lessons from Randy, never did an album with Ozzy, and hasn't done anything in decades creates a kind of mystery.... same way it did for Jake Lee when he finally came back around.
I've always just assumed he was rich, and didn't need to take fill-in gigs with LA Guns or whatever to make rent.

the reoccurring opening part is reminiscent of 'Bridge of Sighs' to my ears
killer tune could be an understatement, dude knows how to put some notes together for sure, and feelz for dayz!
his wife must have complained he was f*cking around too much again (that's my theory on his release schedule, 'I'm working on it honey' lolz)
seems like a killer lifestyle!
