I love “the idea” of Buckcherry, but other than Lit Up and Ridin’ the songs just aren’t there. It’s too bad, lotta potential.

Disagree. They have other great tracks: "Slammin'," "Dead," and "Slit My Wrists" are all great. Yes they are more miss than hit but they've had multiple hits.

As infrequently as I listen to them, I like a lot of their stuff (meaning it always sounds fresh to my ears). This song is just okay. Pretty typical Buckcherry vibe.

The new single is completely underwhelming......I'm a big fan, but IMO the songwriting partnership of Josh Todd, Stevie D and Marti Frederickson has become very formulaic and "stale".
There is usually enough "good" songs to make their albums listenable, but the inspiration/edge is definitely gone.

Yeah, I went through periods of B.C. being in heavy rotation for long periods of time. Now over the last, what 6-7 albums...? you could drop the needle on any random song and I'd have no idea which album it was from. There's nothing 'new'. I suppose AC/DC made a gazillion dollars with that formula but it doesn't work for everybody.

Agreed. They need Keith Nelson back.

Everything I've ever heard from them sounds like I've heard it somewhere else before. They are very unoriginal to my ears but yea, I'll stream the new one & see if this is still the case.

Never been a fan.
It’s ok, just not my cup of tea

This is exactly how I feel. Ever since they started writing full time with Fredriksen they’ve become formulaic. Anything Marti gets his hands on is forgettable. I know musicians love the guy but he neuters every band he works with. Those early BC albums had some “punk rock” edge to them.

Agreed the band needs new production as the band musically is stale. Being said, the band earned my respect as REAL road dogs doing 225+ shows in 1 year post pandemic. That is crazy work.

Those first two albums are great and I even like some of Josh Todd’s solo album.
That said, I can’t name a single song since then, meaning not one of them was memorable.

the first two albums were great, and they had a decent run of singles there for a while, but haven't been impressed with anything they've done in years.

Bc of this thread, I put all Buckcherry on shuffle at the gym this morning. I was surprised how many singles from the past I knew. I do like that raw rock sound. More recent releases have nowhere to go even if they are hit-worthy unless SiriusXM picks them up. No one is streaming Buckcherry and rock radio ain’t playing them.

Agree with most said here, BUT......
The last 2 records had some killer tracks:
Title track off Hellbound is straight up awesome
and Good Time an d Let's Get Wild from V10 are straight smoke.
If you took 1-2 songs from each of the last 5 records, you'd have something going.............

Agreed. They need Keith Nelson back.
Keith Nelson co-wrote all the songs and played guitar on Ricky Warwick's (Almighty, Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders) album 'When Life Was Hard And Fast", which IMO is a really good straight up hard rock album.

Cool riff...but I'm really starting to hate formulaic 3 minute songs with pedestrian choices. Hey!

In their defense, they definitely WANT rock radio hits. Since the 15 record landed them on the A list for a year, they've been chasing that hit single. Frederiksen is now producing the records as well as co-writing the majority of the material.
Vol. 10 sounded good, but the songs are definitely more by the numbers than it should be.
