Looking forward to finally seeing Billy, he's nearly 70 so I thought I better check it out. Joan's great, only seen her once, strong opener. What do you think this tour averages? I'm guessing a bit more than people think b/c no other 80s nostalgia tour. maybe 6-8k, obviously they aren't selling out the hockey arena 20k i'm going to but they could do okay. I saw GN'R 2006 in front of 6k out of 20k, it happens

Should do well in sheds or mid size halls. Solid bill and tons of great tunes!

They're playing at the shed outside of Boston, that sucks to get to & from, & there are a ton of tickets left. He recently came around & didn't sell out the 5,000 seater that's right in the city & Joan Jett has always toured a ton. I'm not sure this particular tour stop will generate much interest, thus cash.

It will do anywhere from 3k to 15k depending on pricing structure, local promotion, weather / walk ups, promotion, etc. These kinds of tours are all over the map and are mainly booked to fill out the schedules in venues with limited booking windows.

They are playing The Garden which surprised the hell out of me. Just a couple years ago, Billy toured and did the Kings Club or somewhere in Brooklyn and I think it was GA.
I'm not saying anyone can pull in 20,000 people but I think there is just something about playing Madison Square Garden where more people will go. Plus, the "farewell" factor.
Billy is still Billy as far as I can tell though. And Joan is still Joan so I'm expecting a good show!

I know the shed outside of Boston has to do X amount of shows a season & employ Y amount of locals, per the contract for building there.

Oh wow, I always suspected some dynamics like this were in play, but this was the first time I seen someone actually say it.
Also just staffing large events with experienced people can be difficult if you are not offering steady and consistent employment. Or building a huge place and not really using it much like the Blockbuster Pavilion in Devore which got orphaned pretty quickly outside of Ozzfest and a few select events.

I get, this in a sort of check this off my list way, but its the exact opposite of why I choose to see a band. I'd much rather catch them early on, than way past their prime

I'm going in Sunrise (Fort Lauderdale area). Harly any tickets sold yet, I'm guessing this will be a big walk-up tour as people know won't see out ahead of time and will walk up. Billy Idol plays some small places 3k area when I was looking into it, Joan headlining 2k probably. hope tour not a total bath. I think it will do pretty well; live nation can do a lot of special deals and make the tour work.

You seem to get really anxious about how well tours are going to do.

This tour was made for National Concert Week. If anyone wants to buy now, that's their problem.
