I tried listening to the first couple Corgan podcasts but it was brutal, he wouldn't shut up and let his guests talk.

Yeah. I can only watch the Cory interview for a few minutes before I need to take a break from it.
Both those guys are full of themselves. Corgan has a better grip on reality, though. Cory's brain spits out words and metaphors he doesn't know the correct meaning of.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I listened to a few....

Listened to part of the Howie Mandel pod, and Corgan cut him off or interrupted him a few times to the point it appeared Howie was getting annoyed.

Listened to the Gene one as well, and Corgan did the same to him multiple times.

Darkness singer said Corey was doing his antics on purpose, then I watch a Steve Martin doc and he did the same thing back in the 70’s … coincidence?

It was either when Howie Mandel was talking to Billy or Bill Burr that he brought up the thing about them being half brothers and they got all mad.
So weird how there is that DNA mystery about them, and Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey too.

Listened to the Gene Simmons one. Corgan is overly arrogant and thinks he's too smart for the room. He will go on with a long winded question then circle back around to 'what I'm trying to get at is ..." like holy shit does he love to hear himself talk.

How does Corey Feldman make a living? Surely not from his music.

I love how Corey thinks that if Howard Stern would've taken his song Whats Up With Youth seriously it would've been massive. Here is what he was talking about

https://youtu.be/iO_8n5y5edk?si=DnzZgeK_6P8X4toN

Then he was also spouting off some bullshit about getting Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters' blessing or support because he was working with Jon Carin (longtime Pink Floyd/Roger Waters collaborator). I can just picture Roger Waters giving Corey Feldman's project a serious listen

Didn't listen to the Mandel pod, but at least with the Gene interview, I think Corgan was in the right. Corgan asked a question and Gene wasn't answering it. Gene answers questions like Roth, they don't. They go off topic and don't answer a simple question. I think Corgan asks good, pointed questions.

The Spider Benatar one was fun. Billy can’t get Benatar to shut up long enough to hear himself talk. He met his match with her. He kept asking her if he could finish. Hilarious.

Corgan hi-jacked the Benatar interview. Either he was intimidated by Pat, but he largely ignored her or talked over her statements. Thought Neil was great and came off like a pretty cool guy with a ton of industry stories.

With the caveat that I realize who I’m talking to here, these examples have nothing on just how much he serially interrupted, condescended to, and lectured WVH. Even you would end up feeling sorry for the guy after sitting through that interview. It was brutal.

Ok you’ll probably say he deserved it, but still. Exhibit A in how not to interview someone.

I totally agree. Neil came off great and not as controlling of the Benatar musical relationship as has always been rumored. He even addressed this and came across pretty low-key and quiet when compared to Pat's bulldozing personality. They seem like they needed each other and explaining how they got together and walking through the overall song architectures was pretty eye opening. Billy, on the other hand, of course had to play the smarty pants insufferable rock critic.

Watching the new Corgan interview with Richie Sambora that just hit youtube. Billy is a terrible interviewer but what really hits me is in the comments section some of the top replies are about how good he is as an interviewer. Baffles me.

In fairness though, Richie seems totally fried. Billy is asking about the first tour and what told Richie that the band was going to blow up bigtime and Richie's answer seems to be stuck in the Slippery When Wet era. Like his brain literally can't keep up.

The answer was probably nothing. Slippery When Wet was when they blew up, and nothing before would have said that.

People here might not like either of them too much, but I think Corgan’s episode with Tom Morello was pretty good as far as his interviews go.

Actually, you would be wrong!

I did watch part of the WVH interview as well... and stand by my position, that Corgan is a blow-hard who does NOT let his guest talk!
