Both those guys are full of themselves. Corgan has a better grip on reality, though. Cory's brain spits out words and metaphors he doesn't the correct meaning of.
It was either when Howie Mandel was talking to Billy or Bill Burr that he brought up the thing about them being half brothers and they got all mad.MetalSludgeCEO wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:13 pm""""""""""""he wouldn't shut up and let his guests talk.""""""""""""""thechefs2003 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 12:50 pm I tried listening to the first couple Corgan podcasts but it was brutal, he wouldn't shut up and let his guests talk.
I was thinking the exact same thing when I listened to a few....
Listened to part of the Howie Mandel pod, and Corgan cut him off or interrupted him a few times to the point it appeared Howie was getting annoyed.
Listened to the Gene one as well, and Corgan did the same to him multiple times.

Didn't listen to the Mandel pod, but at least with the Gene interview, I think Corgan was in the right. Corgan asked a question and Gene wasn't answering it. Gene answers questions like Roth, they don't. They go off topic and don't answer a simple question. I think Corgan asks good, pointed questions.MetalSludgeCEO wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 3:13 pm""""""""""""he wouldn't shut up and let his guests talk.""""""""""""""thechefs2003 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 12:50 pm I tried listening to the first couple Corgan podcasts but it was brutal, he wouldn't shut up and let his guests talk.

Corgan hi-jacked the Benatar interview. Either he was intimidated by Pat, but he largely ignored her or talked over her statements. Thought Neil was great and came off like a pretty cool guy with a ton of industry stories.Neil Diamond Dave wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 7:18 am The Spider Benatar one was fun. Billy can’t get Benatar to shut up long enough to hear himself talk. He met his match with her. He kept asking her if he could finish. Hilarious.

I totally agree. Neil came off great and not as controlling of the Benatar musical relationship as has always been rumored. He even addressed this and came across pretty low-key and quiet when compared to Pat's bulldozing personality. They seem like they needed each other and explaining how they got together and walking through the overall song architectures was pretty eye opening. Billy, on the other hand, of course had to play the smarty pants insufferable rock critic.ParaDime77 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 3:06 pmCorgan hi-jacked the Benatar interview. The answer was probably nothing. Slippery When Wet was when they blew up, and nothing before would have said that.RogerWaters wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 8:10 am Watching the new Corgan interview with Richie Sambora that just hit youtube. Billy is a terrible interviewer but what really hits me is in the comments section some of the top replies are about how good he is as an interviewer. Baffles me.
In fairness though, Richie seems totally fried. Billy is asking about the first tour and what told Richie that the band was going to blow up bigtime and Richie's answer seems to be stuck in the Slippery When Wet era. Like his brain literally can't keep up.

With the caveat that I realize who I’m talking to here, these examples have nothing on just how much he serially interrupted, condescended to, and lectured WVH. Even you would end up feeling sorry for the guy after sitting through that interview. It was brutal.
Ok you’ll probably say he deserved it, but still. Exhibit A in how not to interview someone.
