Poison 2026 tour

I was thinking while watching the Rikki interview which was excellent about who they would take on tour as support or opening for them. I have bad feeling Twisted Sister will support before them, co-headline in their costumes because Dee does some of the partigras dates w/bret. I'd be irate if they supported def lep or crue playing 9 songs. sounds like they'll do the right thing and headline sheds finally again. who will be on the bill you think?

Combined, those acts add about 25 sold tickets to a show

Tom Kiefer or a reunited Cinderella (Jeff's son on guitar) is my #1 guess as its their 30th anniversary also

I would put it at 50/50 or higher they end up opening for someone.

Why would you be irate if they tour with Twisted Sister. That package might actually get me out to a show.
And BTW, Poison will do 9 songs regardless of whether they open or headline. Just so you know.

It's going to be Poison with Twisted doing some sort of Poison 40th anniversary/Twisted 50th anniversary thing.
And yes, even if Poison headlines, you're getting 12 songs at best, and at least 11 will be the same shit they've played the last 30 years.

Poison 99 until 2018 did 12-15 songs headlining. usually 9 before crue and 2 def lep tours. as long as poison closes "twisted" okay but as a fan would prefer nearly every other band from 80s but i agree "twisted" would get a lot more people out then warrant say.

Under no circumstance can I believe that Dee would open for Poison, since he luvs to give impression that they are one of the biggest bands of the era rather than what they actually are.....an opening band who had one major album. They wouldnt headline over a Tesla or Kiefer. Now.....would they open for a Priest or Maiden, Def Lep or even Motley (no chance).....absolutely cause that would further Dee's claim that they are a arena/stadium act

“When Rasmussen noted that 2026 will mark the 40th anniversary of TESLA's debut album, "Mechanical Resonance", and that it would be "cool" for the band to commemorate the occasion in some way, Wheat concurred. "Yes, there's talk of a 40th-anniversary tour of that album, and I can't really say what that is, but it would be a big tour that we'd be a part of," he said. "Just think there's some other bands that have 40th anniversaries of their big, huge records same time. So there's talk maybe of something like that with a particular band, both celebrating a 40-year anniversary together.”

I doubt that. They haven't toured by themselves as headliners in forever. Bret has been hyping this for the last few years. I think next year the time is right for a headline summer shed tour. And coupled with a 40 year anniversary it would be kind of weird opening for another band.

Tesla sounds like gave it away. They're perfect strong draw to open for Poison if it's them two. Tesla was the only 80s band who didn't open on poison packages 99-03. They would have been 60-minute direct support. It sounded like maybe another band came out in '86 in discussions. Would have to be Tom Kiefer/Cinderella. If it's Keifer, do they play before Tesla or after? Tom should make it a 40-year anniversary of Cinderella, only 1 scab at guitar.

other than sheer laziness what could be the reason for not headlining and doing 12-15 songs. Its not like there is a lot of energy needed to play a few more tunes. Most bands are just going thru the motions at this stage of their career. Bert should do some pointing finger exercises.

I have never got that vibe from Dee at all. I think he is very aware of his position in the history of rock. I have heard him say numerous times they weren't big enough for a major tour during their last 10 years or so which is why the 40 and Fuck It tour was so small and scattered. I don't think Dee ever claimed they were an arena act and certainly not a stadium act. They had one arena headline tour for Come Out and Play and that had already showed cracks attendance wise. I don't think they headlined any arenas for Stay Hungry as they were openers during their rise of that album.
Once he hit rock bottom in the early 90s, Dee became very humble, honest, and outspoken about how much of a dick he was because of the fame and the aftermath of losing all his money, claiming $0 on a tax return, answering phones for $, and putting flyers for his wife's haircutting business on windshields.
He also jokes that he lost all his money not because of drugs, women, or wine but just that he spent like crazy thinking he just needed to write another hit for the next album. He also jokingly calls out people saying TS was a one hit wonder, stating "We had TWO hits!"
Jay Jay on the other hand is always talking about how big they are headlining overseas festivals and they have most licensed songs of all time. (none of which he wrote)
I could totally see TS opening for Poison on some sort of package.

I don't get this at all.
A lot of bands play 90% of the same songs because they have to. But to play 100% the exact same set (other than the songs that get dropped along the way) in the exact same order for decades in a row is otherwise unheard of.
The energy won't dip at all for one or two lower tier but still hit singles, at least not any more than it would during a drum solo.

Based on Bret’s dumb Parti gras tour and how he doesn’t really identify as an aging hair metal singer, I could see them teaming up with or having an opener that isn’t a sludge band.
Maybe a crossover country/rock artist or more modern rock band.
Hope I’m wrong.
But if they were a professional band, I think a Vegas residency before the tour would be cool to cater to the die hard fans - maybe play “look what the cat dragged in” one night on it’s entirety, or break out deep cuts for another night.
But we know there is no way they have the ability to relearn anything from their catalog other than the 10 hits and 3 cover songs they’ve played the last 27 years.
