Damn, thats embarrasing, and to do it wrong while actually in KISS, even.BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 8:42 pm For the love of god someone tell Bruce how to play Cold Gin properly. He’s been playing it since 1984 and still does it wrong.
The second time around there’s two A notes before the descending part of the riff.

BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 1:45 am Also embarrassing that none of the other guys even noticed.
The only one to notice would be Paul.
Gene doesnt seem to know a single lyric to any paul song except his backing vocals. Those shows Paul had to skip, he couldnt cover for any of it.
Feeling down because his face is not on the asylum merch.Hatchets Molly wrote: ↑Tue Apr 01, 2025 7:08 am It does seem to be the most disinterested I've seen Bruce over the years.
But he did make the cover of the stellar soundboard recording. Be grateful, Bruce. Nah. Brent is great. Eric is better. Eric got much bigger gigs because of his talent and work ethic.
Maybe Eric Singer should change ESP to MVP (Most Valuable Project)?risingfarce wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:38 pmNah. Brent is great. Eric is better. Eric got much bigger gigs because of his talent and work ethic.
Drums. Eric.
Bass and keyboards. Brent.
Vocals. Eric.
Brent and Eric are great friends. Brent lived with Eric when he moved to L.A. He lived in and watched Eric's house when Eric was constantly on tour.
I think the farce wants to shag singer more than the starchild, thats the only explanation for thinking singer is a good drummer or vocalistHueyRamone wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:47 pmMaybe Eric Singer should change ESP to MVP (Most Valuable Project)?risingfarce wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 5:38 pmNah. Fitz actually has a feel and a groove. His absolutely nailed the playong on the Elder when they played it live.BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 6:06 pm I don’t know about in his prime, but Brent Fitz is way better than Eric Singer has been for the last fifteen years, easily.
Alice Cooper made the statement that his plan A included Eric Singer. If Eric wasn't available, he had to resort to plan B.NeonKnite wrote: ↑Thu Apr 03, 2025 5:19 pmFitz actually has a feel and a groove. Eric Singer sucks the life out of everything he plays.
My understanding is Neal Smith from the Alice Cooper group thinks he is absolutely horrendous and can't even come close to play any of his shit, and I agree.
Glen Sobel > Eric Singer
Alice says a lot of stuff. Neal Smith said Eric Singer sucks. I'll go with Neal, he can still play and he is 100 times the drummer Singer ever was.risingfarce wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 1:58 amAlice Cooper made the statement that his plan A included Eric Singer. Kevin Valentine also gets cool points for playing on this AOR classic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=YH5Arbm47IQ
Alice wanted Singer. He didn't want Smith. Smith did nothing of any importance and success after being let go from the Alice Cooper Band. Singer did. Played with many well-known bands. Smith wasn't getting those same calls. He comes off as a bitter fuck.NeonKnite wrote: ↑Fri Apr 04, 2025 4:44 amAlice says a lot of stuff. Neal Smith said Eric Singer sucks. As a big fan of drummers, Singer is boring as fuck and is missing that special somethings that the good ones all have in varying capacity. Personality. Feel. Groove. Has has almost none. Drum machines have more personality.
There was a reason KISS went with Kevin Valentine over Singer for PC.
Kevin Valentine > Eric Singer.
lol. this reminds of when ppl play randy Rhoads stuff. The guitar nerds will say something like, "Close but that's not how Randy played it, he held his pick to the right side of the pick point and slightly pressed down harder that than with his index finger and always breathed in instead of exhaling during that part of the guitar. I've studied all of his live videos". Then there would be 50 threads of other guitar nerds arguing the exact opposite. I get it. I would catch those things Bruce leaves out too but the average listener can't tell one note from another or a palm mute.BernieTaupson wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 8:42 pm For the love of god someone tell Bruce how to play Cold Gin properly. He’s never played it right once, going back to the Animalize tour.
Same with Parasite, there’s a palm muted accent between the two halves of the main riff.
Which I’m not going to attempt to sound out.

I put Todd Kerns in the same category as Andrew Freeman and Joel Hoekstra, technically proficient musicians, yet completely void of that intangible "it factor".Hatchets Molly wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 3:25 am I like Kerns, but stop with the effing hair flip every 5 seconds.
That's funny but not a great analogy. Bruce is just straight playing the riff wrong on the most basic level. It's pretty embarrassing for any professional let alone someone who was actually in the band.keyofgee wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 8:12 amlol. this reminds of when ppl play randy Rhoads stuff.
