Favorite new songs / March 2025

Listened to a ton of music this month, just not that much new stuff! Here's an attempt to recap the few newbies I enjoyed...

SINGLES
Volbeat - “By A Monster’s Hand” (album coming in June)
I’m not exactly a fan of this band, but this is the best (and heaviest!) active rock single I’ve heard in years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTUPgEse6_A

Ghost - “Satanized” (album coming in April)
A bit underwhelming compared to their other recent singles, but hopefully the record will deliver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGR2M2mBJXU

H.e.a.t - “Bad Time For Love” (album coming in April)
They seem to have doubled-down on the ‘80s vibe this time around. No complaints here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0jBn8vZ-e4

ALBUMS
W.E.T. - “Apex”
A rare find nowadays — an all-killer, no-filler hard rock record. Favorite song: “This House Is On Fire” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDc2Wops0bs)

The Darkness - “Dreams on Toast”
The advance singles were stronger than the album tracks, so I don’t know how much I’ll reach for this in the long run, but it’s still worth 33 minutes of your time. Favorite song: “Walking Through Fire” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDldc1Mlwmo)

Rock n' Roll Party Cowboy is THE jam on the new album.
