I mean... this guy was the Scottie Pippen of Bon Jovi!
Success, money, woman, booze, woman, booze, drugs, more booze, more money, more woman, and... most of the above is correct... he's def on something!
Or... he's done so much, for so long... that even if he went stone cold sober, he'd probably still test positive for weeks or months after the fact.
In short... super talented, EXCELLENT voice, and all the respect in the world for all he's done!

Corgan is actually a great host. Not an easy interview to do.

Can't say. Richie has always been a sloppy talker. As others have said, years of drinking plus aging, this could be sober Richie. At least his head isn't a sphere like Corgan's.

Sounds fairly sober to me, but this is what you call a burnout. Doesn't matter if he's kicked everything - there's damage done from hard living. Some people wear it better than others.

Yeah, this is likely accurate. It's weird he comes in and out from my perspective. He says something and/or looks a certain way that makes it seem that 'of course he's under the influence', but then he says something with clarity that wouldn't really be possible if he was. So agreed it's probably just his current state after years of living at 100mph. The human body is an amazing thing and can obviously endure a lot of shit.

Maybe he's like Joe Walsh and Iggy Pop who are years sober but still sound loaded.

I listened to a bunch of this last night... and I was interested to hear what Richie had to say, drunk, high or sober.
But... Corgan is unbearable... WOW... Dude, shut the F#@k up already...
He asks a question, then just as Richie utters a sound - Corgan steps all over him, with a 2 and 3 part add-on to the question, by suggesting multiple ways how Sambora should answer it... then Richie starts in again, and Corgan goes right over the top of him before he can answer it.
Something else I noticed, in listening to this... Ace Frehley is MORE coherent, and easier to understand than Sambora is! WTF!

"""""""""""" Doesn't matter if he's kicked everything - there's damage done from hard living."""""""""""""""
This!
His brain is fried... there are some sentences where he's basically inaudible.
It sounds like he's got a mouthful of mashed potatoes.

Watched 15 minutes and had to turn it off. Richie is out of his skull drunk and really cannot complete the answers to basic questions. If this is what losing his marriage as well as his Bon Jovi spot looks like, l don’t want it. Richie is AMAZINGLY talented and charismatic, but this is hard to watch.

Billy is so funny with his passive aggressive interview style, that I can’t even pay attention to the marbles in Sambora’s mouth.
“Hey Ritchie, you’re my hero, you were the coolest in Bon Jovi. But, as my generation’s class president, I must tell you that we made fun of you and your hair and your music and your videos. I’m the king of the indie world and I have to tell you that we made fun of guitarists who played too perfectly.”

I don’t see anything wrong with it other than Corgan.
Richie’s a “sleepy speaker” like someone said, other than I don’t see alcohol or drug abuse that day … he’s been working out, looks greats … and F Shanks has AGAIN.

I'm curious if he had a stroke of some sort. He did say in an interview around the time Jon's documentary that he has a permanent slur. Any type of neurological issue could cause slurred speech. And I seem to remember him mentioning he has a permanent slur in an interview at some point. Year of abusing alcohol and oxycodone will take it's toll.

I think Iggy is articulate and always comes off as really intelligent!

Why didn’t Corgan ask about a Bon Jovi reuinion? EVERYBODY asks about a reunion .. or did I miss that question … I watched the whole thing man.
Which leads me to believe he was told not to because a reunion is being planned and Richie can’t discuss it … Richie is definitely getting in shape for something.

Sambora sounds really rough, bet his singing voice is fried too so a reumion will be full Memorex or an absolute shitshow. Or both.
The ‘interview’ is more of a Corgan monologue with Sambora as a sidekick. Is that Corgans style or is this just to prevent Sambora from mumbling on about nothing or falling asleep?
